Omg really

Weβll see how the final 15 go. Right now Iβd assume heβs the 7 and Schenn is 8. But theyβve gotta give Schenn a couple of games here and there
I knew they were gonna get a few games down the stretch. So long as Schenn doesnβt see the ice in the playoffs theyβll be okay
Stanley-Schenn looks as awful as predicted
High cycle almost bit them on that Wilson break
It is actually
Luke Schenn skates about as well as a mini mite
New pod: The Sabres are a wagon and they just keep rolling tr.ee/zyi1VIFukY
It would be real cool if they traded Ryan Johnson in a big deal this summer that added a few more branches
Yesterday was the anniversary of the Rick Martin trade to LA. The trade tree is still alive
Iβm not expecting much defensive growth. But if he can steady the scoring instead of being so streaky he can be a really effective player. Iβd still consider upgrading him just because heβs streaky

I wonder if he had been a little hotter pre-deadline if Thomas is a Sabre
I think that could be a line to watch in the playoffs. If Tage and Norris are getting the other team's best, they could have some really advantageous looks.
I dump on Quinn a lot (and I'll continue to do so when he deserves it) but when he's hot he's HOT. That line gives me some Vanek-Roy-Afinogenov vibes from 06-07 when they could feast on weak matchups because the other two lines draw the better lines/d pairs.
Dahlin should be a Norris finalist. Big Hockey Media will keep him out because it's a popularity contest. But he deserves the bump.
Lyon feels a little steadier than UPL. He'd be my game one starter. They're both prone to leaky goals but I think UPL's worst is far worse than Lyon's worse...both have a similar ceiling IMO.
Obviously plus/minus is a load of crap. But still. He righted the ship after a tough one on Sunday.
Some thoughts! Power was nasty tonight. Had several insane passes to set up grade A chances. One went in (Zucker goal) and he probably should've had 3 or 4 points tonight. Saw a few dopes talking about him being dash 4 on Sunday...he's a +3 tonight. Whaddya know
Really need to do better about Sabres posting in here during games
High scoring, fight filled home game against a division rival β
Lindy Ruff: β
Olympics in Northern Italy: β
Really weird injuries: β

We love false spring donβt we folks

One thing I failed to include in the pod. Not in love with the choice of acquiring multiple players from one of the leagueβs worst teams!
Sabres additions
Stanley: Cautious optimism heβll be okay with good deployment
Schenn: Pray he doesnβt see the ice
Carrick: upgrades their 4th line, nice addition
Pearson: too bad itβs not the 23 year old version. Interested to see how often they use him

I forgot to include they also eliminated the LTIR loophole that allowed contenders to load up on players, further minimizing trade movement.
NHL GMs pushed to effectively eliminate salary retention. They hand out trade protection like candy and I'm sure they'll find another thing to cut out that reduces the amount of player movement even more. An enormously boring and terrified group of people
One of the worst deadlines on record. NHL GMs are horrifically boring
