Laura Halse Anderson's newest book, Rebellion 1776, is also about a pandemic and inoculations, this time smallpox. It's a fantastic piece of historical fiction.
The cover of Lu and Ren's Guide to Geozoology, by Angela Hsieh. It features two children running in the foreground. The background has giant creatures that look like axolotls. End of description.
Just finished Lu and Ren's Guide to Geozoology by Angela Hsieh. It is an absolutely gorgeous story with stunning artwork. It works as a standalone, but I hope this will be a series because there are so many places to go with it and I want more! #KidLit #Librarian #GraphicNovel #BookSky
Ugh. How can he be right but so very wrong at exactly the same time?! ๐ญ (He's right about AI picking up incorrect garbage. He's so very wrong in his definition of garbage.)
Some sellers on Amazon will change the listing to a completely different product rather than make a new listing. That way the product doesn't show 0 reviews and their people are more likely to take a look at it.
I love my city ๐

New teams now have to deal with the cap. There are still free agents for the O6 to recruit as well as some amazing talent in the upcoming draft class. Feel your feels, but it's truly not the end of the world for this league. ๐งต 2/2 #PWHL
Each O6 team protected 4 players and lost 4. It's hardly doom and gloom. NY still has their ROTY. Ottawa still has their playoff MVP. Montreal still has Captain clutch. Etc etc. ๐งต 1/2 #PWHL
So now I'm excited to follow Jaques and Quiggy to Vancouver ๐๐ค
Yup. I was a MN fan since the first season. I stuck with them through the second season because of all the other amazing players on the team. But I dropped them as soon as they protected Curl. That tells me exactly what they think of me as a trans fan. ๐คท
It's interesting to see Seattle go mostly offense and Vancouver go mostly defense. It's going to be an exciting season to watch!
I'm watching this draft and have 99% settled on Vancouver for my new team. Masch, Nurse, Jaques, McQuigg, and Bell all on the same team? Talk about a dream team!! ๐๐ค #PWHL
For the alt text, the "wizard" is labeled GOD in the second panel. It's in faint text across their forehead.
If you support drag story time, please call or email to compliment your libraries' programs. We get so many complaints, people yelling, cussing, calling names. The support helps counter that. It also tells us that people *want* these programs and gives us data to keep them going. #librarian #Pride
What about star stitch? www.thesprucecrafts.com/how-to-croch...
Many of us are both! ๐
I have at least 4 sweaters on the needles, not to mention all the other projects, but there are two more sweaters I have the yarn for and are calling to me so strongly. ๐ญ๐งถ #ADHDProblems
I guess I have more patience for it because in BlueSky's early days a very large portion of users were just that. I knew what I was signing up for when I got my invite (yes, it was still invite-only when I joined). I do agree that they shouldn't purposely post to unrelated feeds, though.
Yes but it's better than people who comment "I'm going back to knitting ๐งถ" or similar on awful political posts. I follow this feed specifically to stop the doom scrolling. Please don't put that crap on this feed too!
A hand holding up a dark colored knitting project with the Busch stadium scoreboard unfocused in the background.
On the plus side, our seats are under an overhang and I brought my knitting! ๐งถ
The Busch stadium scoreboard as seen through rain. The infield is in the foreground covered by a wet tarp. The scoreboard reads "the start of tonight's game is currently delayed. Start time is to be determined. Thank you for your patience." A digital runner under the scoreboard is lit up in rainbow colors and reads "welcome to pride night at Busch stadium."
This weather is homophobic. ๐ค #Pride #STLCardinals
I once saw someone nalbinding, which requires *lots* of spit joins, who carried a very small container of water with them that they could dip the yarn end in to avoid using spit. I thought that was quite genius!
I thought and hoped it would be Rooney, especially after her incredible performance in the finals. But they just had to make the worst choice possible. ๐
I have stuck with Minnesota since not far into the first season. I love so many of the players. But protecting Curl is the last straw for me. I'm going to wait to see how the drafts shake out, but I'm really loving Vancouver so far. Jaques, Nurse, and Masch are three of my favorite players! #PWHL
Finished washcloth! #Crochet #CrochetSky ๐งถ
To be fair... While I adore beagle puppies, they really are 100% derp ;-)
A half finished dishcloth of a purple music note on a light gray background in a mesh/grid pattern. It is laying flat on a gray tabletop. The two balls of yarn being used are sitting above it. End of description.
My first foray into interlocking filet crochet! I blame all of you posting the cool blankets for #ShowMeYourKnits. Pattern is 8th Note 20 by Ashlee Brotzell Designs on Ravelry. Yarn is Knit Picks Dishie. #CrochetSky #Crochet #WIP ๐งถ
I posted upthread about my spouse getting a very threatening cease and desist letter once. I had nightmares for weeks.
My spouse once got a cease and desist letter threatening hundreds of thousands in fines and decades of jail time. I don't remember what it was he downloaded that resulted in that letter, but I do remember being *terrified.*
