Elon Musk met John Collison for a pint. Here’s what happened The conversation is mainly about Musk but still relatively revealing about Collison’s worldview. These are my takeaways

An ICE agent attempted to enter the Ecuadorian Consulate in Minneapolis, threatening the staff member who prevented him from entering.

Hello? ICE is so out of control that its agents think they can break international law.

Congress needs to rein them in yesterday.

Isn't this a telling aspiration? To want robots to look after your kids, so you can do stuff, rather than robots to do stuff, so you can spend time with your kids?

The darkness inside these shrivelled men must be like a gaping unfillable void.

The main question I have for Labour is, what will you do when the polls don’t improve for you after this?

17.11.2025 19:44 👍 544 🔁 93 💬 53 📌 11

The Labour Left had total control over the party in 2020, lost it without much fight, and since then has been having a tantrum about the nasty boy who took their toys.
The Labour right stole the toys and has not stopped gloating since. It seems that's the only thing they know how to do.

Look, part of me thinks she’s right and that, like setting fire to Dustin Hoffman and Susan George’s house, this is pretty standard rural behaviour. Which is why I never go there.

AI needs to stay out of cinema.

After all, if I wanted to see a movie made from older, better movies, I could put on something by Brian De Palma.

Must admit, it's a pretty piss poor field.

It's like the moment when you're in the bookies and are caught between a Group 1 race at Ascot or a 5 furlong sprint at Lingfield.

And you just say "Fuck it.."

And toss a coin.

And there was me, thinking about Stalin and Trotsky and the 5 year plan.

When I was 14.

But it's all been explained to me now.

Donald, you're posting more here now.

Why?

Let's say you're a US citizen and ICE grabs you off
the street and puts you on a plane to Mongolia.
Don't you just go to your consulate, give them your
name, date of birth, etc., they make you a new
passport, and you fly home? They do this all day
for tourists who had their stuff & ID stolen, there
are procedures. I mean obviously it sucks to have
that happen to you but it's not like your life is over
or anything. And the government should definitely
write you a nice check as an apology.

didn't take much for these guys to go from "big government is bad" to "what's the big deal if you're abducted by the government and trafficked to Mongolia"
