Driving down to Cornwall today, Bob Dylan on the radio. Song: The Times They Are A Changin'. Seemed very apposite for what is going on in the world today.

Does that mean Trump is now a war criminal to go with his 34 other felonies?

I think Dick Van Dyke is still around. The English accent would be something to die for.

Getting rid of heredity peers is a start but it doesn't go far enough. Need to get rid of the Bishops too. In fact get rid of the entire farcical institution and replace it with an elected assembly.

The thought had crossed my mind that nobody is going to body search him before he meets with Trump. He'd stand a chance of getting off a few shots so he might take out Vance and Millar at the sametime.

Does Cleverly's round of the news desk today herald the start of his campaign to become leader when the Tories disastrous local election results come in.

What a mad, deranged rant. He doesn't want to pay taxes but he'll be demanding that the British government (at the real taxpayers expense) mount a rescue mission for him and his mates when it all goes tits up in Dubai. He's made his bed and now he should lie in it.

The right wingers desperate to hi-jack Churchill evidently do not know Churchill. He warned that upper-class obstruction could anger working-class Britons and lead to class war. He proposed abolition of the House of Lord. Called for a "United States of Europe" the creation of the Council of Europe

These weird Churchill worshippers all think Churchill would have been one of them. This is Churchill in 1904.expressing himself in favour of "the old tolerant and generous practice of free entry and asylum to which this country has so long adhered and from which it has so greatly gained"

Caught Hannah Spencer's maid speech in the Commons. What a delightful ordinary woman she is. A refreshing change to the normal stuffy po faced people who become MPs. We need more Hannah Spencers.

So James O'Brien this morning claimed selective amnesia could not remember if Isabel Oakeshott was Richard Tice's girl friend or wait for it...Lee Anderson's.
Oakeshott and Tice as an item would be delicious, a match made in hell. Also this has endless possibilities. e.g. Pochin and Yusuf.

It should be compulsory for every one in Britain today to read Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Follow up by reading Catch 22 and then understand how stupid humans are.

It’s outrageous that the majority of our lawmakers are unelected. Sign now to demand power be placed rightfully in the hands of the people It takes 30 seconds

The Lords is still a home for cronies and donors. Removing the Hereditary Peers isn’t the end, it’s just the start. Demand a fair, elected second chamber now - sign @electoralreform.bsky.social's call to demand change. It takes 30 seconds action.electoral-reform.org.uk/page/174863/...

Here in a nutshell is all the failures of the "serious" media (here The Economist) regarding Trump. They have commissioned a serious grown-up commentator to write this. And look at the result. Look in particular at that "strangely lacking interest"... /1

Play the game 2026 or 2003 in which a newspaper headline is read out and you guess which year it came from. Really funny if it wasn't so frightening.

James O'Brien this morning asking what the King should do about the state visit to the USA. Should he go or throw a sicky? I think he should go but book appearances on Jimmy Kimmel's and Stephen Colbert's Late Shows.

Except he didn't. Trump never saw him just like when he went over for the inauguration and then never got an invited to the actual ceremony. Even Trump can't stand him.

Why so much fuss about juries? They are far from infallible e.g. Timothy Evans. An acquaintance of mine, a lovely bloke but lacking cognitive skills beyond the ability to read The Sun was a jury foreman in a trial. As long as the right to legal representation remains I see no problem.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD…

Can we STOP with this β€˜special relationship’ BS

And also…can we wake up to the treachery of our right wing press?!

Sorry can't agree with you on this one. I have never felt that juries were any guarantee for justice being served. A jury convicted Timothy Evans amongst many other wrongly imprisoned people.

I will go on record and say that Starmer, the man I voted for to be Labour leader, has deeply disappointed me, but I will also say that on the world stage he looks true statesman and diplomat. If he loses the leadership I hope he will stay on as Foreign Secretary.

Vox pops are a complete waste of time. The size of the sample is never given. No evidence is provided to say every view is aired. Also, with the BBC's obsession with being impartial if they had 50 people supporting a view and 1 against they will still give equal time to the 1. Did it with Brexit.
