I ordered a hobby cell phone from Hong Kong a few weeks ago. I paid the seller part of the tariff and DHL sent me a link to pay the rest when it was in customs.

To be fair, the gangs were nasty when I was there but the violence limited. I mostly remembered machete attacks, and occasional grenade attacks, and sometimes shootings. Some of these attacks were criminal and some were political.

After Moises's assassination by Columbian mercenaries the government in Haiti ceased to exist and the gangs set themselves up a warlords. They are not the result of a lack of police but the games of colonial powers.

In 2004, Aristide was overthrown again. Since the previous military support no longer existed, so US and French intelligence used fascist paramilitaries and the gangs to carry out the coup. This armed the gangs. There was tension between the now gang armies and the government.

Cedras stepped down when Clinton invaded Haiti. I worked there during this time. When there were free elections again, Aristide won. Aristide and the Haitian government abolished the military and placed the police and fire department under civilian control.

The Reagan and Bush admins lost their guys in Haiti and the police, military, and fascist paramilitaries (like FRAPH which included Lebanese Phalangists who moved to Haiti) overthrew Aristide and placed School of the America's graduate Raul Cedras in power. The US quickly soured on Cedras.

You know nothing about Haiti. When Baby Doc Duvalier was overthrown and his secret police the Tonton Macoute destroyed, the Haitian police, along with the fire department, were branches of the military. The leftist, former-priest, Jean-Bertrand Aristide won the first free election in a landslide.

As an old ARA/RASH boot boy, please, boneheads are not skinheads. They have no roots, they don't belong. In 94, a bonehead got scalped with a beer bottle when he and his friends tried to recruit at our bar.

I smoked multiple packs a day from my teens until my 30s. I quit 13 years ago. It absolutely will go away. The cravings will become a little less everyday. It will take time but it will get better.
