Today, Yanar Mohammed โ one of the most formidable feminist leaders of her generation โ was assassinated in her home in Baghdad in what appears to have been a targeted militia attack.

We welcome the acquittal of peasant organiser #AmandaEchanis and demand accountability for the violations of her rights. Amanda was acquitted on January 14, 2026 after spending more than five years in detention over trumped-up charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
