Signs I need to actually set up my kid’s profile for my old phone correctly: they woke up at 12:15am and started another sleep podcast for themself and are now, at the age of 7, falling asleep to the history of eggnog.

I have to fill out a form…for a program I don’t qualify for…that requires a login I don’t have. The password reset button has yet to do anything any hour after I hit it. 😑

I don’t usually have a problem with the transit system in my city, but their non-cash fare system is hot garbage. WHY can’t the app and cards just be integrated!? I have a busted card that stopped working with funds on it and I have to jump through hoops to transfer MY money!?!? BULLSHIT.

I think my biggest error when playing NYT Connections is that my brain never remembers some words mean different things when pronounced differently. It reads the word and that’s that, it can’t be anything else.

You can truly gauge your grocery priorities when Kewpie mayo is super on sale. Forget everything else, gimme the Japanese mayo for $2 less.

Got an ok shot if the blood moon eclipse at 3am this morning. We actually set an alarm so we could all wake up to see it. And we’re already planning what we need to see the Lemmon comet in October. Ya, we wake our kid up in the wee hours to see astronomical events. Welcome to our nerdy house.

They played twice today, both times they did need one of us to read for them, but they definitely were getting the hang of the controls and that’s a good thing IMO!

My kiddo hasn’t been interested in reading and that’s led to them being a bit behind. But today they said they want to play a Pokemon video game. So here I am clearing old saved games for Soul Silver from my 3DS to engage them in the joys of literacy.

Our eco system can’t sustain itself without the snow! Climate change has stolen so much from us, even the memory that this is what winter needs to be in our part of the world.

Reminder during the current Snowpocalypse:
1. Snow = water. Snow builds our water table and is necessary for good water supply. You like Canadian farmers. This is important.
2. Sub-zero & freezing temps kill ticks. The range they live has been moving north, let the winter kill them as it should.

Hubs has gone off to play Battletech so it’s a “shovel the snow and make chicken soup” kind of day.

I made one of the recipes from No Meat Disco tonight. Coconut tofu with coconut curry on jasmine rice. I did add a tiny bit if fish sauce, so not fully vegetarian. I also added more vegetables to the curry.
