All of the Christmas gifts to wrap? Stockings to fill? And two HUGE glasses of fortified wine already drunk? No problem! Mom powersβ¦..activate!

Signs I need to actually set up my kidβs profile for my old phone correctly: they woke up at 12:15am and started another sleep podcast for themself and are now, at the age of 7, falling asleep to the history of eggnog.
Listening to ABBA with my kid and they ask βIs this Sailor Moon?β
Iβm winning at nerd parenting.
4 days later Iβve Karenβd enough that theyβve moved the funds. So thereβs one for me.
I have to fill out a formβ¦for a program I donβt qualify forβ¦that requires a login I donβt have. The password reset button has yet to do anything any hour after I hit it. π
I donβt usually have a problem with the transit system in my city, but their non-cash fare system is hot garbage. WHY canβt the app and cards just be integrated!? I have a busted card that stopped working with funds on it and I have to jump through hoops to transfer MY money!?!? BULLSHIT.
I think my biggest error when playing NYT Connections is that my brain never remembers some words mean different things when pronounced differently. It reads the word and thatβs that, it canβt be anything else.
You can truly gauge your grocery priorities when Kewpie mayo is super on sale. Forget everything else, gimme the Japanese mayo for $2 less.
If this was an historical documentary it would have taught me that every kid in Astoria in the 80s wore Nikes. Only Nikes. π€£
Watching The Goonies for the first time as a 45+ year old. The Pepsi product placement in the first 7 minutes is intense.
A blurry nighttime photo of a partial lunar eclipse and red coloured blood moon event.
Got an ok shot if the blood moon eclipse at 3am this morning. We actually set an alarm so we could all wake up to see it. And weβre already planning what we need to see the Lemmon comet in October. Ya, we wake our kid up in the wee hours to see astronomical events. Welcome to our nerdy house.
They played twice today, both times they did need one of us to read for them, but they definitely were getting the hang of the controls and thatβs a good thing IMO!
My kiddo hasnβt been interested in reading and thatβs led to them being a bit behind. But today they said they want to play a Pokemon video game. So here I am clearing old saved games for Soul Silver from my 3DS to engage them in the joys of literacy.
Ooooooo chesterfield!
Our eco system canβt sustain itself without the snow! Climate change has stolen so much from us, even the memory that this is what winter needs to be in our part of the world.
Reminder during the current Snowpocalypse:
1. Snow = water. Snow builds our water table and is necessary for good water supply. You like Canadian farmers. This is important.
2. Sub-zero & freezing temps kill ticks. The range they live has been moving north, let the winter kill them as it should.
Hubs has gone off to play Battletech so itβs a βshovel the snow and make chicken soupβ kind of day.
Just bit my tongue super hard. Happy Friday everyone! π
I made one of the recipes from No Meat Disco tonight. Coconut tofu with coconut curry on jasmine rice. I did add a tiny bit if fish sauce, so not fully vegetarian. I also added more vegetables to the curry.
A glass loaf pan filled with sliced daikon radish in yellow brine.
A plate of cooked egg, spam, and carrot
Prep is in full swing for gimbap dinner! #GlutenFree #WhatsForDinner
I need somewhere to dump photos of food, so you all get that. Youβre welcome.
White toast with pink, blue, purple, and silver sprinkles on a plate with a mug of milk
Itβs a fairy toast sort of day.
Rexall of all places.

Literal potato photo to say these might be the best jalapeΓ±o chips Iβve ever had.
My kid had $5 and they chose to spend it on a plastic ukulele from the Dollarama. It hasnβt left their side since we bought it. Iβm so proud. π #MusicMom
Three summer camps booked before the end of January. The true sign of working parents.

Gluten free cheese tortellini, with bacon, squash, and sage cream sauce. The tortellini is from Pietroβs Gluten Free. Itβs my first time trying their frozen GF pasta and I like it a lot so far! π½οΈ
