On this day 40 years ago The Kane Gang played on the Red Wedge tour at Newcastle City Hall.
We were backed for our spot by The Style Council. Camelle Hinds was on bass (Camelle was also our bass player in the 80โs.)
This is one of the great protest songs all wrapped up in Dr Robert's heady mix of jazz, funk and soul. Someone once described The Blow Monkeys as jazz-punk and I like that. 14, yes 14 albums not including Robert's solo stuff and collaborations. One of our unsung greats. @theblowmonkeys.bsky.social
