De angst voor uiterst rechts bij de EVP begint echt vreemde vormen aan te nemen. Waarom zou je zo extreem doorslaan en een vrij stevig compromis afschieten? Welke christendemocratische kiezers zijn er voor uitzichtloze kinderdetentie? Denk eens aan wat mensen willen en wat minder aan profilering.

New reporting by @nicolettaionta.bsky.social and @maximilian-henning.bsky.social on data-sharing deal between the EU and the US only increases my concerns and raises a number of additional questions. The European Parliament must stand ready to exercise serious scrutiny on the Commission!

Brussel zet in op arbeidsmigratie, voor Europese economie en om mensensmokkel tegen te gaan De Europese Unie moet de komende jaren een magneet worden voor legale arbeidsmigratie. Dat is niet alleen hard nodig om de economische groei en welvaart in Europa op peil te houden, het kan ook illegale migratie tegengaan.

Heel goed dat de Europese Commissie meer mogelijkheden gaat bieden voor geschoolde arbeidskrachten om onze enorme arbeidstekorten op te vullen. Onze bedrijven schreeuwen hierom, onze economie kan hier niet zonder. En voor al deze mensen is het een alternatief op irreguliere #migratie.

We must differenciate between Orbán and Hungary. There are millions of Hungarians, especially young people, who really want a better, European future. We can't leave them behind! And of course full support for the accession of Ukraine!
