Yeah...I know. A picture of nothing. But I really wanted to share that I've "finished" a novel I've been working on for quite a few years now. It is a labour of love and has been A RIGHT OL' JOURNEY.

'Matt manages to paint clear pictures of the landscape, which allows you to visualise exactly where he is at times and immerse yourself in the elemental forces he conjures.'

"Welcome to #BlueMonday. The most depressing day of the year..."
@mattgaw.bsky.social writes for @the-independent.com on why we should embrace Blue Monday - and why the cold weather that typifies this time of year may in fact IMPROVE our mood:

Feeling fed up with the cold #weather now that Christmas is behind us? @mattgaw.bsky.social writes for @theguardian.com on the joy he finds in the snow, wind and rain on the Scottish isle of Skye, and that βbadβ weather can be as restorative as sunshine:

Industrial farming is choking our planet . Yet at a time when we should be supporting farmers to invest in restoring nature and transitioning away from destructive animal ag , the news that government have slashed wildlife-friendly budgets even further is just plain insanity .

Alt text: Me (looking a bit rough actually) standing in my garden with a new copy of the paperback (its cover has a golden weathercock against a dark blue background decorated with wind swirls, snowflakes and raindrops).
Paperback version of #InAllWeathers due out on January 16th! Huzzah! #naturewriting
When it comes to storms and the letter B, the names are deliciously plosive. They batter, bludgeon, burst, bang, boom and bloody blow. But....Bert? Would have preferred a Blake or a Bennett.
Picture shows a girl stranding on rocks facing the sea. Her arms are stretched out wide and she is leaning into the wind, her hair flowing backwards over her shoulders.
Writing a piece on experiencing wind and found this photo taken of my daughter on the Isle of Skye. Wildness and euphoria. #NatureWriting ##InallWeathers
Please remember to tag posts with #naturewriting so they will appear on the Nature Writing feed. I hope the hashtag will bring writers & readers together, & help create community. I'd love the feed to be as diverse as poss, so do post on the margins - where nature writing merges with other subjects.
In absolute awe of this book. Have to keep putting it down and doing a little sigh. #writing #reading #BookerPrize
I hope I've done that!
Please do!
