I haven't found an easy way to tell our publisher clients that we won't join their slack. I think folks take it personally.
At @outpost.pub we don't use Slack etc.
We work async, based on tickets and emails.
Realtime messaging used in emergencies and informally.
I find Slack antiproductive

I'm gonna go a bit further and say the revolution ain't about the newsletter. That's just one channel, albeit an awesome one
The real revolution is indie publishers getting enterprise level publishing tech at indie prices
Folks are launching technically sophisticated publications with newsletters

AI error or not, Iran school bombing is a permanent stain on Americaβs soul | Will Bunch
A debate on AI in warfare obscures the truth about an Iran school bombing. U.S. humans are to blame for this war crime.
They had names. They had beautiful faces. And they had the same dreams as your kids - crushed when American "precision" bombs slammed into their Minab elementary school, killing 175
Don't blame AI for this. Blame the sick humans who see war as a game

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

Crypto election PAC Fairshake marks first wins in 2026 U.S. congressional primaries
In the opening primaries of the midterm congressional contests, Fairshake is celebrating victories of several pro-crypto candidates backed by the super PAC.
Crypto creeps keep buying elections
The so-called FairShake PAC spends millions to elect reps who will deregulate magic beans, spending on ads that don't mention crypto at all
Funded by an all star list of crypto grifters

What Elon Has Done
Elon Musk's destruction of USAID has faded from public consciousness in America, despite leaving death and destruction in its wake.
"The next administration should also prosecute all those involved in the dismantling of USAID. On top of being a humanitarian catastrophe, it was illegal under American law as a unilateral shutdown of a Congressionally enshrined agency."
