Punishing a Ukrainian athlete for wearing earrings saying “Stop War” is not neutrality. It is a moral failure. Oleksandra Kononova did not promote hatred or politics — she called for peace while her country faces daily attacks. 1/2

Hungary blocks €90bn EU loan to Ukraine days before war anniversary Viktor Orbán has intensified his anti-Ukraine rhetoric ahead of elections where he risks being toppled

This would be quite an escalation by Orbán - as he promised at the European Council in December to exactly not veto this, as long as Hungary was not part of the Enhanced Cooperation. This would make it a huge breach of trust (if there is any left).

It’s not especially hyperbolic to note that perhaps the single worst way to succeed as the head of any organization is to tell your staff only to tell you what you want to hear.

European allies accuse Russia of poisoning Navalny with rare frog toxin In a bombshell joint statement released on February 14, 2026, Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands declared that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned with epibatidine, a deadly toxin derived from South American poison dart frogs. The announcement, marking nearly two years since Navalny’s death in a remote Arctic penal colony on 16 February 2024, directly implicated the Kremlin, asserting that only the Russian state possessed the “means, motive, and opportunity” to administer the poison. This revelation adds a chilling chapter to Navalny’s history of surviving state-directed assassination attempts. In August 2020, Navalny collapsed during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow after being poisoned with a Novichok-group nerve agent, a military-grade chemical weapon developed by the Soviet Union. He was airlifted to Germany for treatment at Berlin’s Charité hospital, where multiple labs – including those in Germany, France, and Sweden – confirmed the Novichok presence. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) later verified a novel variant of the agent not on controlled lists. Navalny publicly blamed the Kremlin and, after recovering, courageously returned to Russia in January 2021, only to be arrested at the airport on charges widely viewed as politically fabricated. He spent the rest of his life in prison, enduring harsh conditions in remote facilities. The statement detailed that independent analyses of samples from Navalny’s body “conclusively confirmed” the presence of epibatidine, a neurotoxin not naturally occurring in Russia but found in the skin of certain dart frogs in Ecuador and other parts of South America. Known for its extreme potency – up to 200 times stronger than morphine – epibatidine causes paralysis, respiratory failure, and agonizing death, even in minute doses. European laboratories from the five nations tested the samples, contradicting Moscow’s official narrative that Navalny succumbed to natural causes, such as a heart rhythm disorder. Navalny’s widow, Yulia Navalnaya, expressed no surprise, stating on social media that she had suspected poisoning from day one and thanked the European governments for their investigative efforts. She described epibatidine as “one of the deadliest poisons on earth,” vowing to submit the findings to the United Nations’ chemical weapons watchdog. Russian officials swiftly dismissed the claims as a “Western propaganda hoax” and “nonsense about a frog,” with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova insisting on full disclosure of test results before commenting further. The Russian embassy in London mocked the allegations, accusing the allies of exploiting Navalny’s death for political gain Moscow has consistently denied involvement, labeling Navalny a “terrorist and extremist” and pointing to his imprisonment on charges widely seen as politically motivated. International reactions poured in swiftly, amplifying calls for accountability. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot condemned the act on X, stating it demonstrates Putin’s willingness to deploy nerve agents against his own citizens to cling to power. Barrot urged a unified global response, including potential new sanctions, echoing the joint statement’s emphasis on Russia’s violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention and Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention. British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper highlighted the “despicable tools” at Russia’s disposal, underscoring the Kremlin’s fear of opposition. Experts note that epibatidine’s use signals sophisticated state capabilities, as the toxin is classified as a chemical weapon and rarely synthesized outside specialized labs. Today's word of the day: delulu.

With a straight face, the Kremlin just announced they are ready to discuss external control of Ukraine by the UN after the war is over. In their imaginary world, they are winning and think they can dictate terms like this.

The Kremlin is delulu.

🇫🇷 Macron: Russia keeps pounding civilians and destroying energy facilities with the obvious aim of freezing Ukrainians into submission.

The answer cannot be to cave in to Russia’s demands, but to increase pressure on Russia instead.

Russia, after invading Ukraine, is a weakened country.

Partisan political speeches have no place on military bases to active duty troops. These soldiers have no choice - they are ordered to be there. No politician should ever make a speech like this to troops. The continued silence on this issue by Republicans is a disgrace. bsky.app/profile/atru...

Russia Strikes Ukraine’s Energy Sector, Killing 12 Miners The attack comes during a winter freeze and despite efforts by President Trump and others to get the two countries to negotiate a truce.

A Russian drone strike killed 12 miners who had just finished their shift at a coal mine in east-central Ukraine on Sunday, officials said, highlighting the limitations of a partial, short-term truce that Russia agreed to last week at President Trump’s request.
