Pragmatic solutions to big problems. Nothing here is investment advice, viewpoints are personal only, YMMV…

There’s a third choice which is the one we should all be rooting for, 🌮

It’s almost like tying your data center to a highly volatile input cost might not be a great idea.

Donald Trump's aggressive campaign against wind, solar, and EVs has kept Americans dependent on foreign oil. Now his Iranian war has exploded the cost of gasoline. Here's why that's bad news for Democrats.

It's worth repeating @ketanjoshi.co that this is not an energy crisis - it is a fossil fuel crisis and for Europe it is different from 2022.

In 2022 we had a convergence of a gas shortage with a nuclear shortage in France and historically low hydro levels - all hitting as we entered winter.

China is already getting very serious about this very quickly. One has to wonder what points of leverage they will use beyond just a “please don’t fire on our ships” agreement with Iran.

Or we could decouple our economy from oil.

LOL that would be silly

For Energy, ESG Now Means Economics, Security and Geopolitics With “energy dominance” comes great turbulence. President Donald Trump’s open-ended war against Iran reflects a US seemingly unconstrained by energy needs and ready to wield its own fossil fuels as in...

They're going to write books about all the big brain moves of this gang of imbeciles and among them will be "Spending a year trying to kill renewable energy and then launching a war that sends oil prices soaring"

Ukrainian interceptor drone makers say they can export 5,000-10,000 units monthly without affecting Ukraine's own defense, Reuters reported. SkyFall's P1-SUN costs $1,000 per unit and has downed over 1,500 Shaheds in four months. The US and Qatar are in talks to purchase. #Ukraine

Nature Report, Killed by Trump, Is Released Independently

When the US govt terminated the National Nature Asst, @phillevin.bsky.social + the author team were determined not to let that stop them.

They re-organized, set up an advisory committee, found funding…and now the brand new Nature Record is open for public comment. 👏🌳👏🌲

Seems to me that perpetual gas and oil crises might be avoidable if we replaced them with more locally sourced non-depletable resources. There might be other benefits too. Just a thought. 🤷

A good point.

Fwiw I find that much of the dunking is the result of good journalism being run through editorial process favoring both sides “balance” and click bait. Headlines that go way beyond the meat of the article. Neutered language. The dunking crowd don’t realize this and dunk on journos.
