You can think you’ll become giant and powerful and yeah, you’ll be able to destroy everything to make way for new creations, but you still have to destroy everything first. And if you can’t even remember how you got there, you could make the same mistakes over and over again.
He wouldn’t even have to know. How would he, if queen didn’t know? She didn’t want to bring the roaring. Spamton couldn’t have known either. He just wanted to get big, not realizing the destruction that would reign from the heavens he so badly wants to see.

Why did Spamton want Kris’s soul so bad. What would have happened if he got it, besides (presumably) Kris dying or the game ending?
Spamton told us, “we’ll stand up tall, and see past the dark…” he kept going on about being big.
I been thinking about what [hyperlink blocked] could be. It won’t be soul, freedom, or love, other characters can say those words with no problem. Best guess is consciousness, memory, (plays into themes of “don’t forget,”) or mind (would work well with Goner Maker sequence). But there’s more…
I believe Dess is the one singing “don’t forget” at the end of chapter 1. I think it’s something that she made up to sing to Noelle to comfort her, a long time ago. Just because if I had a protective older sibling, that’s the kind of treatment I would want from them as a little kid.
There are Shadow Man enemies in chapter 3 but I’m inclined to believe that’s just coincidence with Shadow mantle name. If it’s significant, then my harebrained theory is you need a lot of Shadow Man’s to stitch together a whole mantle.
Speculation: agree with Susie dragon theory. The Kaiju movie on the TV at the end of ch2 hints to a later scene in which she will get to rampage through a town or city, or a ch 3 movie set.
Rudy describes his wife as a “hot piece of work,” makes me think she is a fire magic user, even on the surface. Could also be where Noelle’s lack of guts comes from.
Speculation: agree with Multi-knight theory. Agree with Papyrus knight theory, there’s enough room for both. Noted several mentions of hands/arms; MK, J and S discuss playing handball. Their lack of arms is a red herring.

Some text about dust got me thinking: why would the unplugged TV be dusty? Why would Ralsei need to dust his Castle Town room? (To add magic.) Ball of junk is dusty.

Speculation: shadow mantle… mantle… the stockings were hung from the mantel with care… mantel being a winter holiday icon in pop culture, a warm fireplace. It’s a fire cloak! It protects against ice magic.

Speculation: The “guts” status on character screens tells us whether a monster has/is capable of magic or is made of meat, thus has no magic on the surface. Kris and Susie both have guts, Ralsei and Noelle do not.
Guts/Ability to use magic or not connects to dust on death, or a body left behind.
