Today's random shower thought:
A genderflipped parody of The Boys, naturally called The Girls.
Except I've got no time for Garth Ennis' cynicism so I guess it'd have to be be an optimistic reconstruction of the superhero genre instead?
@dapperdinobot
Author of THE CATAPHRACT OATH, a swashbuckling clockpunk mecha adventure! Ask me about giant robot cartoons or obscure TTRPGs or kung fu movies or food history or sci fi/fantasy novels and I will talk your ear off. He/Him Arguably the best Marc.

This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.
More elephants: one with a sword, and one with a rifle.
Demilitarise elephants! The one on the left is holding a rifle, and the other one is using a sword. If only the late Hannibal would have known ...
Ah yes, 1660's China, right in the transition period between Dynasties. Totally chill place to hang out in, right?
... though through various contrived scenarios you could absolutely have a swashbuckling fencer face off against a wuxia swordsman which would be rad as hell.
While hanging out at the bar with a friend of mine, she hit me with:
"Sours are just IPA's for the 2020's."
And she's right.
Also, protip: never tell a dinosaur kid that they can pick dinosaurs or Jesus but not both.

I mean, I still need to get my act together and write at least one more "Dumas, but with giant robots" novel.
Though I'm currently chipping away at a manuscript I can only describe as "What if Shaw Bros did a Star Wars movie with a talking monkey in it?"
... I'm still not sure if I'll finish it.
Using a Star Trek gif, post where you are at right now.
(Participation optional, naturally)
I've also heard it theorized that this is why the various MST3K reboots don't hit a younger audience, as kids these days(tm) just don't have the experience of channel-surfing and stumbling across some terrible 50's monster movie on a Sunday afternoon.
(Or MST3K reruns, either).
I have pre-ordered this, which means I will likely forget about it by the time it actually comes in, which means I'm basically buying a surprise present for future me.

Okay, -now- I'm feeling Daylight Savings mess with my schedule.
As I'm basically wired to get up once the sun does.
... which is arbitrarily an hour later, now. Hm.
Quote skeet with a gif of a powerful woman.
Just discovered 31 Minutos last night, while listening to NPR. It's a Chilean kids' show with surprisingly catchy music.
In particular, Arwrarwrirwrarwro is hilarious, as it's a nonsense song based around what English sounds like to non-English speakers.
It's also sung by zombies, 'cause why not?
A mockup of the Blades '69 book where the 69 has been crossed out and replaced with 69 in bright purple. Below that, the bio for April Kit Walsh which reads: April Kit Walsh writes games about feelings, vulnerability, and caring for one another, including Thirsty Sword Lesbians and End of the Line. She used to be a swordfighting ballerina, but claims those days are behind her; she has absolutely no idea who that masked heroine with the sword and the tutu might be. When not writing RPGs, April is a civil liberties attorney working to protect the rights of criminal defendants, activists, journalists, and everyone else impacted by the technologies of control or empowerment. Next to the bio, the description for the $420k stretch goal: Blades '69: The Sexual Revolution The 1960s were a time when the counterculture challenged establishment norms around sex, love, family, and a person's right to choose what happens to their own body. How does this conflict manifest in Doskvol? How does the Consensus exercise control through these dimensions of human experience, and what struggles and delightful deviancies does your group want to explore? Blades '69 is a combination of a worldbuilding exercise and safety tool to help you bring themes of both real-world and fantastical sexual liberation to your game.
yeah yeah we saw all you sly posters going "Blades '68? ...just ONE off."
Well we're not COWARDS. Challenge accepted!
At $420k we'll commission April Kit Walsh (designer of Thirsty Sword Lesbians) to write up... Blades '69

So I've been leafing through the #Daggerheart corebook I got for cheap a bit ago. It's funny, as its whole vibe is "Not D&D, but still Fantasy." Kinda generic, but also specific?
On the other hand, I can make Frog from Chrono Trigger right out of the box, so ...
No, YOU'RE unreasonably horny for Noi, and I am not projecting anything I swear.
O SHIT O SHIT O SHIT
"Dear Diary, I can't believe I've fallen in love with a guy from the Grand Duchy of Genoa-Lithuania - and on an airship, too!"
Someone should make a different movie where a playwright abandons their family after a family tragedy & then their grief-stricken spouse attends the play and realizes it wasnβt worth it because the play is terrible
Been playing Tears of the Kingdom, and once again, I am surprised nobody's started a gay cosplay onlyfans named "Link the Twink," because the name is RIGHT THERE.
(Alternately, this may already exist, I'm just not gonna put that in my search history).
Oh sure, it's easy to be 'the tall one' when you can go all Cronenberg.
(At least V did it before the Resident Evil lady).
Name a TV show you feel like no one remembers but you:
Oh hey, I don't like either of these guys too!
So, uh. I guess that's one thing I've got in common with Billionaires.
One.
I don't write as much as I'd like, or as I should. And I'm at the point in this manuscript where I'm like "argh this is terrible why should I even bother?"
But if I stick with it I'll get to the part of my outline where I introduce a talking monkey. So that'll be fun.
kill the imposter syndrome in you head because not only is there someone out there doing it worse than you, they're also using chat gpt to do it
Anyways.
Saw an ad for a touring production of That Harry Potter Play, and never have I had less desire to see a live performance.
