The Old Man of Storr, a towering rock pinnacle on the Trotternish Ridge, Isle of Skye, Scotland. Formed by ancient landslides as part of the Trotternish landslip,the largest landslip in the UK,it rises above steep cliffs and grassy slopes. The area is steeped in legend: local folklore says the “Old Man” is a giant who was turned to stone, and the surrounding landscape inspired myths of fairies and mystical creatures. Today it is a popular hiking and photography destination, its dramatic silhouette visible across northern Skye.
