You having "frozen" in response to a trigger is not you having implicitly given consent.

Trauma responses are not "choices." What happened to you when you "froze" or dissociated is not your fault.

CPTSD is not about what happened, or our supposed unwillingness to "let it go." It's is about how what happened wormed its way into our identity, beliefs, & reflexive behaviors.

Realistically "letting it go" means reformatting who we are, day by day-- not a one time decision.

Dissociation is NOT "I fear this" or "I'm unwilling to experience this." It's not about "fear" or "will."

If we're dissociating, it's because our nervous system has experienced something it truly believes is a threat to physical or emotional SURVIVAL.

Not a "choice."
