Lovely evening with @hugheshaili.bsky.social @mrlordscience.bsky.social before CogSciSci tomorrow!
That's a wrap! Back to school I go after half term
Yep! Very common
That makes sense with the quote marks - cheers John. Will email
Yeah didn't even notice it till you said tbf...the point really is that we shouldn't have to think it's teaching or stuff. There should be the opportunity to do both as lots of people like me feel they have no other option but to leave. I'm back next week though!
Yeah not meant like that at all. I do loads of work for TF every year and am a huge supporter. It's a play on words.
Very proud of this piece in @schoolsweek.bsky.social

Giving teachers the opportunity to be intellectually curious and have agency over their development is key! "Teach And" for the win!
Only just over a week till @cogscisci.bsky.social and I enjoyed taking part in this episode of PodSciSci talking about what @carlhendrick.substack.com and I will be speaking about - Checking for Understanding. Episode here: open.spotify.com/episode/2tzD...
Off the back of my webinar with @andynewellpd.bsky.social for @iris-connect.bsky.social and @collegeofteaching.bsky.social this evening, here is a blog on instructional coaching and AI. Inspired by a paper I was signposted to via @pepsmccrea.bsky.social

Talking about *mental models*? Make sure you know what you mean.
Itβs a popular term often used loosely.
They arenβt just bits of knowledge. Theyβre situation-sensitive tools for thinking.
This post took 2yrs to write!

Hope so as that horrifies me
I'll be using the definition from the original research. I don't like the implication on another post that I'm implying it's teacher's fault tbh.
Interesting timing after my post. My book won't be blaming teachers at all.
Retrieval, what/how/why in English...pretty much anything that's been implemented with a surface understanding of research. Dual coding.
Excited to announce I am writing a book on lethal mutations of research we commonly find in schools. I have a list of what I think are the most pervasive ones but would love to see if I have thought of them all...what do you think are the most common ones?
Thank you!
Can we have a chat about this?
Be interested to unpick this more with you and hear your experiences
This is my thoughts too
I would love to chat to you more about this Paul
I have a question: what are your experiences of applying for teaching/leadership jobs. What's good? What needs to change? This includes interviews
I'm conducting qualitative research for a journal article on HR & application processes for teaching & leadership vacancies in England - including interview. Looking for participants for focus groups & case studies of good practice - please get in touch to take part.
Thanks Jack - much better
