Anyone fancy a Bugering?
30 YEARS AGO TODAY: for feedback on the TV licence the BBC approach some ordinary people in the street.
Thank you π
It's been a hell of a week. Negroni and relax time now, lads. Cheers!
Disability Labour - the Labour Partyβs official disabled personβs affiliate organisation - has issued a statement that the governmentβs concessions are insufficient and is calling on all MPs to vote against the benefits Bill on Tuesday
108 absolute heroes. This is the Labour Party I know and love. Thank you to all who have signed π
One reason the revolt on disability benefits is looking so substantial is the line being used to defend it lacks any integrity.
To claim that the purpose of cutting PIP - a non-means tested benefit - is to help people back into work requires saying something untrue.
A brave decision that is very much appreciated by those of us potentially affected by the proposed benefit cuts. Thank you π
Everyone bangs on about the two child limit but those of us who are exempt from that (kids born prior to 2017) are absolutely hammered by the benefit cap. When my grace period on UC ends I'll lose Β£933.20 per month. Yes, you read that right. Please can we campaign to scrap both.
My mum was just as bad. Babycham featured heavily throughout my childhood!
This brings back memories of staying over at my Nana's on a Friday night. She let me stay up late so I could watch That's My Boy and have a glass of Advocaat as a treat. Different times!
I was "in" with the InPhone in 1984
Wakefield is a city so can't be included. Rotherham is ok as long as you avoid the town centre. Clifton Park is lovely.

Yeah, the cinder track is an old rail line.
Long walk yesterday along Cleveland Way from Scarborough to Hayburn Wyke waterfall. Navigating all the death stairs was worth it for the stunning views. Then walked back along the cinder track to Scarborough. Not quite as scenic but no death stairs to contend with!
Keir Starmer confirms he didn't know the UK-US deal would be announced until the last minute: "I wouldn't have been having my phone call with President Trump halfway through the second half of the Arsenal PSG game if I'd planned it better."
It is fascinating the way you can take money from hungry children or disabled people without consequence, but try to limit the amount that goes to rich pensioners and everything implodes.
That's good going, well done! Cheese and wine are my weaknesses.
Weight loss back on track after only maintaining last week. Two pounds lost this week π₯³
Happy #Caturday πββ¬

The electorate: we want a political party that doesn't actively make our lives worse
Starmer: This result shows we must machine-gun the dinghies
Runcorn result may start bitter debate within Labour Henry Zeffman Chief political correspondent "On every door it was the same story β winter fuel and PIP." Those were the words of one disconsolate Labour campaigner I just spoke to as they emerged from the Runcorn and Helsby count. This is undoubtedly a great result for Reform UK which suggests their polling surge is real, and then some. It also may prove the start of a bitter debate within Labour about some of the most controversial decisions the Starmer government has made in its first 10 months.
make peopleβs lives worse, lose seats
Hi Labour, rather than learning all the wrong lessons from this election defeat - what about taking some people out of poverty and improving some lives?
