Yeah I thought getting it in the wallet would work but it kept giving me the error. I don’t mind having the card… but it’s weird that I’m right back where I would be if we’d done nothing at all

Pretax commuter card works on subways but doesn’t have a chip so I always had to use it to buy metro cards. And now this. You could already tap to pay so all this seems to have done is spend a ton of money and hassle to make the cards a different color. Classic bureaucracy move.

Arrived in NYC and bought the new MTA “OMNY” card. Which works exactly like a MetroCard. Raising the question: WHY THE FUCK DID THEY REPLACE THE METROCARD?”

No disrespect to Tubman, but I’d like to think MOST conductors actually can say this.

The AI problem will be generational. For people today who know how to research & write, it’s crazy NOT to use AI to get ideas on the page faster & then get to editing.

But the NEXT crop that take it for granted… that get lazy with editing…that value the speed over meditating on drafts? Screwed.

"Treason" gets misapplied and overused a lot, but if this bonehead comment happened to be true, everyone involved in Iran-Contra from Reagan on down would be guilty of treason.

Now would be a good time for Democrats to drop their opposition to DHS funding and pass the bill to support our homeland security.
Continuing to play political games with our national security given the unfolding situation in the Middle East is dangerous.

Boy, does this make me think of Justice Jackson’s Youngstown concurrence, in which he warns of the danger of a president unilaterally initiating a war, and then using that war as a bootstrap to claim extraordinary powers at home.

Like… some of these companies are in deeper with each other than the amount of revenue they make off their admittedly massive government contracts

It’s actually possible that the AI circular financing bubble has gotten so big that tech companies are going to tell the government, “yeah, ok, then I guess we’ll have to cancel our deals with you too because we can’t stop working with Anthropic”

Judges Southwick and Englehardt (5th Cir.) took the occasion of Judge Dennis taking inactive status on February 23 as an opportunity to vacate his partial dissent in the Texas drag ban case and reissue their maj. op. virtually unchanged. Real nice, guys.
