This imp’s response tells you just how much the Trump administration cares about casualties. Not a jot.

I know Germany is working very hard on its vergangenheitsbewΓ€ltigung but come on! Perhaps not DB’s finest hour… other than the obvious of course.

Something as heinous as the Milice in #WW2 France doesn’t just spring forth fully formed and ready to do evil - so let’s go back to #WW1 and find out what the deal is…

@lmbd1418.bsky.social read an interesting passage in this book. A woman in a highly dangerous situation finds solace and comfort in caring for her donkey. She does get away with her donkey. Very touching.

#OnThisDay in ’91 Ayrton Senna won at Phoenix in the new McLaren MP4/6, one of my favourite #F1 cars: high-revving 3.5-litre non-turbo V12; 6-speed manual ’box; big front & rear wings but no other wings; fat slicks; brilliant, iconic but simple livery; oh... & it sounded awesome!

An 'epidemic' of violence: The women and girls killed by men last year We tracked reports and contacted police and prosecutors for a deeper look at the situation across UK.

A question for gamers and for those who know the industry. I hate multiplayer games. There is nothing in them for me…and yet this is pretty much all that is offered on consoles now…games for 12 year olds when there are plenty of folks with a lot more Β£/$ who’d like something different I’m sureβ€¦πŸ™„πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Is there such a thing as a good and reasonably up to date book about vehicles that have been used by the UN. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a book about the history of the UN per se…anyone read a good one?

Thoroughly enjoyed the pod. The problem with WSC and India is nuance; public doesn’t like nuance. I bought Walter’s book Douglas Haig: Architect of Victory in 2006. As I recall a good book and refreshing change from β€˜Blackadder’ caricature.

Picked these up today. The Deserters is Booker long list nominated and it intrigued me. Alone In Berlin was on impulse. Mind you I do think it might have been recorded by Katja Hoyer a wee while ago. 1

10 Books I’m Excited for in 2026 I know this is a few months late, so some of these books will have already come out. But there are a ton of books that I am excited about that are coming out this year. I’m thinking this will…

This week's blog contains 10 books I am excited for in 2026.
Some of these books have already come out, but I really wanted to put out a list of books I'm excited for in the first half of the year.
