I really thought I’d missed all the wintry mountain weather this year but there’s still so much snow up on the high tops. Massive cornices waiting to catch the unwary. Fine in last week’s beautiful clear weather but in a whiteout you’d need every bit of navigational skill you have.

Ah well, next time. If I’ve not decided I’m done with boat photos for a while 😂 I’ve met some interesting characters tho. I was warned about one boatyard owner up by Oban. I found him, explained what I was doing and he just looked at me curiously and asked “why?” 🤷🏻‍♂️

I had Hartlepool on my list but I was running out of time and there was no guarantee I’d have got in the big boatyard there so decided to leave it for another time. It looked very fenced off! @andrewatkinson.bsky.social took us out the south gare breakwater there a couple years ago.

Thanks. It’s an area I’ve not explored at all before. I was sticking to the boatyards this time though I did climb St Mary’s lighthouse afterwards.
