Morning sketches... It's been awhile since I posted drawings. Got caught up in deep cleaning the attic last month and the basement this month.
I feel so accomplished and smug.

Another on point sermon to help me navigate these troubling times. The phrase that stayed with me: "When you realize that the rabbit isn't real..."

My attic. After weeks of labor it is cleaned out and tidyish. Accolades please.
SOLD! When it's Time for a Sip of Color, oil with cold wax. Thank you Lebanon Picture Frame and Fine Art. It's always a pleasure to work with Melody Vincent. Stop in to see much more work from local artists.
Black and white photo of a longhaired light colored cat lying in a low basket on a shaggy lawn. It looks confidently at the camera with one forepaw draped over edge of the basket.

Sketching by a creek to work out possibilities for an upcoming painting. The artist's life is a good one. Best part? Listening to the water whisper as it goes by me.

It is truly beautiful but I know I would trip over the bottom but on the floor. Is that possibly a sort of bench?
When it's time to Plant Seeds, 20 x 20", oil. I painted this earlier this season on location although I added the starlings in the studio.
I went out today but it ended up being a "let's not waste any more paint on this" sort of effort and scraped it off. It happens.

When All Roads Lead Home, 8 x 8", oil with cold wax on cradled wood panel.
I painted this on location at Englewood restaurant. Thankfully they didn't seem to mind. Took a few compositional liberties.

When You Come to the Edge, 12 x 12", oil with cold wax on cradled wood panel (with bear). The weather has been perfect this week for painting outside. I didn't really see a bear but I was in some pine woods.

Just a few days left for my exhibition with Louise Thomas at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center in Carlisle, PA. Who knew that an exhibition of black and white photographs and brightly colored abstracted oil paintings would work so well together?

Last Call under a Harvest Moon, oil with cold wax on cradled wood panel, 24 x 12". This is a painting about the night sky and backyard scenery during late evening doggo potty breaks.
I wrote a blog about it all at www.jillpeckelun.com

Easily the most generous description of my work. Many thanks to CALC and fellow collaborator Louise Thomas.
If you are in the area I hope you have a chance to see the exhibition.

America did not storm the beaches at Normandy alone on June 6, 1944.
We had allies who fought with us.

Kudos to the bird that managed to shit an image of itself onto this bloke's car.
This is the best team crossover video I've ever seen.
