If I read correctly, it's the same exact chipset old Speak & Spell toys used, made in the same time period by Texas Instruments, as you said. I believe the Chrysler voice is the same, too.
I need to figure out how to get it to self test and read all of its functions out. This is the only one I know how to activate easily.
My LeBaron does indeed talk.
It's a Mark Cross car. So as well as being fully dressed on the outside, it's also very loaded on the interior. All leather, all custom colors and patterns for the Mark Cross package.

My LeBaron is coming along pretty nicely. Got a better look and discovered it’s rust free. Very solid clean car.
This car runs on a carb so none of this stuff is needed and can be disposed of.

This is how it looked originally with it's emissions era Mikuni carb. Very complicated and malfunctioned constantly.
