Sometimes small makes are the perfect way to get out of a creativity slump; there is so to about a finish that encourages more. But like you, I tend to try to make larger items. I hope your friend loves and enjoys this delightful gift!!
#QuiltSky Do you have a favorite quilted finish for January? I run a monthly linkup for sharing our favorite finish each month, and itβs a great way to build community. Hope to see your finish there!
Thank you! ππ©΅

My doomscrolling avoidance this week was a new quilt made in response to the Project Quilting 16.2 prompt of ombrΓ© that Iβm calling the Good Vibes quilt. #quiltsky #QuiltingJetgirl
A fabric origami balloon hanging as an ornament on an artificial tree. The fabric used for the origami balloon is navy blue speckled with aqua and white dots and kelp like organic shapes.
Here is a much better photograph βΊοΈ
Oh wow, that is wonderful to here. Thank you so much and I look forward to sewing along with you. βΊοΈ
The Effervescence quilt mocked up using Kona cotton colors in shades of purple. On the left, Fabric F is a bold contrasting color (bright yellow) and on the right Fabric F is part of the gradient (light purple).
Talking about Fabric F as a focal fabric for the Effervescence Quilt Along today ‡οΈ

Delightful!
Oooh, I missed that somehow!
Putting the fabric Scandinavian Stars on a garland strand is a great idea! π
An origami balloon made from a heavily starched 6β square of fabric.
Well, I had to use a chopstick to work it open (inflation did not work), but itβs pretty cute! I used a VERY heavily starched 6β square.
Thank you so much!
24 brightly colored Split 4 Patch quilt blocks laying on a floor prior to shipping to the Many Hands and Many Hearts comfort quilt charity. The block drive runs through late February 2025. The request is for blocks to make comfort quilts for children, so novelty prints with contrasting popsicle bright solids (or near solids) are requested.
Today is Giving Tuesday. If you havenβt seen the current Many Hands and Many Hearts charity quilt block drive, #QuiltSky, maybe seeing the 24 blocks I made and shipped to Cynthia over the weekend will inspire you to contribute. Details ‡οΈ

Beautiful. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hmmm, true. Still might be worth a try. Iβll let you know how it goes if I do!
Fun! Have you ever tried using heavily starched fabric or fabric with interfacing to make an origami balloon?
This was made following Live, Craft, Eat!βs βHomemade Christmas Tree Star Ornamentsβ tutorial using 12wt Aurifil thread instead of yarn. Each color (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple) was wrapped around the star 6 times. 2/2
A homemade Christmas Tree Star ornament, made following the live, craft, eat! tutorial using 12wt Aurifil thread instead of yarn, hanging on a small, fake evergreen tree branch. Each color (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple) was wound around the star 6 times.
In over 20 years of marriage, we didnβt have a Christmas tree until I impulse purchased a 4 foot tall cutie this weekend. Now comes the fun part: making the ornaments! #QuiltSky send me your DIY recommendations (I have a no sew Scandinavian Star up next on the to-make list)!! π 1/2
The Effervescence Quilt Along starts tomorrow! Today is the final day of the pre-sale & early tomorrow morning the fabric requirements, including information about these colorways & more, will be sent out. Click β€΅οΈ for more information:

Congratulations! May each step in the process help you feel more confident and empowered and your close circle be there for the support in between. I believe in you. π€©
I am vegetarian but predominantly prepare vegan meals at home.
A photograph of the profile of a juvenile wild turkey at Bosque del Apache in New Mexico, taken on October 17, 2024. The wild turkey is in tall, tawny grass and its feather have an iridescent sheen.
May you have a gentle holiday. You are important to me.

Iβm smitten by its iridescence!
Oh interesting! Iβve had this pot for about 25 years and never had that issue. Now I want to go check the screwβ¦ π€
I realized over the weekend that my last finish for the year was at the end of June. So, inspired by Debbie @aquilterstable, I switched gears from quilting a larger quilt to making a few much needed functional items for our kitchen. Hooray for fast, useful finishes!
