Just came back from seeing Inside No9 Stage/Fright. Tears of laughter from start to finish. @reece-shearsmith.bsky.social and the other one were brilliant, it was definitely one for the fans and I’m just said we won’t see any more 9s.

I could’ve written the script for this one.
I’m smashing it so far.
Just locking in my prediction - Charlotte to get voted out, followed by Alexander, followed by Frankie. Jake and Leanne to win #Traitors
That’s probably why I’m a huge James Bond fan - my dad made me watch the Connery films as a child, then I was around when each new film was an ‘event’ in itself.
Occasionally something will come out which captures the cultural zeitgeist and becomes a shared experience but those are much rarer now than previously (Game of Thrones is probably the most recent example)
I’d never thought of that. Good point. If I’m ever a dad I’m going to bring my child up on 90s films.
I do feel we’ve lost the variety that comes with having to watch whatever happens to be on every day of the week.
I really admire the commitment! I usually burn out when watching such long-running shows.
Bread for another day. Somehow!
Well Linda’s toast #Traitors
I look forward to the parties’ submissions on what amounts to “crashing” an “economy”
I have noticed a change in my mental state since I resolved not to engage in conversations where I feel I have nothing pleasant to say. It’s far too easy to go down that rabbit hole.
It also doesn’t help that on TwiX a growing chunk of my raw follower count is comprised of people I don’t know who never post anything and happen to look like stock images of female models.
Some thoughts on the Government increasing the Tribunal time limit from three to six months:

It makes sense in principle (3 months is a very short time compared to other limitation periods). I am concerned about the additional burden this places on tribunals.
Would still be a heavier touch than we have now and over a shorter period. I could be wrong, but I just don’t see there being a separate reasonableness test that applies to probationary periods.
I would imagine it will require the employer to establish that the sole/principle reason was a fair one but without the need to act reasonably in all the circumstances (meaning only an abridged process is needed to establish that the potentially fair reason was genuine).
It’s a good plan, I’m just a little concerned that my followers will be forced to wade through a pile of spaghetti to get to the good stuff.
Shaking the lurking habit is quite difficult. I spend ages trying really hard to think of something effortlessly clever to say.
A trial or a wedding.
I struggle to get used to wearing ties again.
Watched episode 1 of The Day of The Jackal. I love the book & 1973 film (in a ‘what if James Bond was a contract killer’ kind of way). Eddie Redmayne nails his Edward Fox impression and it felt like a solid reimagining (in a ‘what is Craig’s Bond was a contract killer’ kind of way) - worth a watch.
My recurring nightmare is that I’m a civil servant and Richard Hermer is telling me “No tenable legal argument exists to justify the decision or policy”.
I found a friend!
Slow news day.
Anyone looking for a decent horror film this Halloween I watched Late Night With the Devil whilst on the plane home. Had a grin on my face from start to finish. It nails the cheesy talk show feel but with a horror element that builds really well, without being so terrifying you can’t watch. Strong 👍
Goes to show we should wait for the actual budget statement before making snap judgments based on media speculation.

Someone needs to restart this trend by having a Pina Colada with a little umbrella, a curly straw and a slice of pineapple.
Where am I? 10 points for correct answer. Bonus points awarded for jealousy.
