The pups and Mike strutting around Loch Lomond on our way up to Oban. Beautiful weather but 30 mins earlier we all got completely soaked when we stopped in Glasgow for a quick pit stop โ๏ธ ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ ๐ถ ๐ถ
Finally unboxed a Christmas giftโฆmy fav four captains in order - Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway. I donโt quite know what happened to Sisko ๐๐ฝ๐๐ #startrek
The current chaos in my office while the bedroom is being redecorated. Thereโs a pup in there somewhere ๐ถ

Yes ๐๐ป
๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ
โWhy?โ
As much as I suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, I think itโs actually his enablers who are worse than him.
My sister was on Politics Live BBC2 yesterday being interviewed about A&E corridor care, in relation to our recent awful experience with our mum. Serious subject but my goodness the family whatsapp was on fire ๐๐
Back. At. It. ๐ช And not a bad place to be doing it at. #PhD
Happy 12th birthday to Sheldon, the bestest of best boys ๐ถ and where better to spend it than on a deserted, albeit freezing ๐ฅถ Scottish beach.
Decided that Iโm going to learn from Sheldonโs example and this is how Iโm going into 2026: chilled and relaxed. Although maybe not so exposed ๐ฌ๐
Returning to Scotland, to the middle of nowhere for a week or so, in order to disappear from everything and to have some breathing space so I can finally re-acquaint myself with my PhD studying. Just me, my fabulous OH and the pups. Heaven on earth. ๐ฉ๐ป๐ฑ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ถ๐ถ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ
I have a very bad feeling about this...
Today's the 959th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. As viewers of King and Conqueror will know, William was able to surprise Harold by crossing the Channel in his hovercraft, and the English king was already exhausted, having recently seen off a Martian invasion.
This is horrific

(Very) brief trip to campus today. Great to see Uni again rather than the inside of an NHS A&E corridor. Brief chats with fellow PhDers - Iโve missed it! ๐ Back soon hopefully ๐ช
Off for a break in the chaosโฆ
Nearly 2 months in after my mumโs hospital event and still no-one has come to assess her at home. How do people without capable family organisation and support systems manage?? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Day 5 and a trip to Rishborough Roman fort. And then it was time to say goodbye.๐ Until next year!โบ๏ธ
Day 4: Rome. My favourite โค๏ธ Full on and intense day but wonderful being back in the Republic. ๐๏ธโค๏ธ
Day 3 and we moved from the Trojan tragedy to the philosophers. Wonderful stuff โบ๏ธ
Day 2 went really well as did my talk: โFrom Leeches to Lancets: The Enduring Legacy of Bloodletting from Antiquity to the Nineteenth Centuryโ. Everybody was very engaged and I had some really great questions which led to a really interesting discussion. #histmed
No one. They were looking at her in a kind of โah blessโ way.
Day 1 of the Classics Summer School was great, lovely to meet people Iโve only ever seen on a screen before! And Sheldon and Missy have definitely made themselves at home โบ๏ธ๐ถ๐ถ
Looking forward to the forthcoming Classics summer school - itโll be a nice break from my current life! #classics #summerschool #maturestudent #classicalstudies
24 hours in A&E with your mum on a stretcher in a corridor (for all that time) makes for interesting viewing of a part of Britain that I had no idea existed.
Sheldon reflecting how I currently feel ๐ฎโ๐จ
Really glad we didnโt pay extortionate prices to see Oasis as we can hear them quite well from our garden without having to watch the Gallaghers prancing around #winwin โบ๏ธ
