Thatβs really nice looking. Super interesting subject. Is it a hasegawa kit? Not sure I had seen it in 1/72 before.

Itβs been a while since I posted anything. This P-40E has been on the bench far too long. That said, itβs hard to get a bad result with these Edward P-40βs if you take your are patient.
Some pics including a family photo.
LOL, same here. The 3D printed parts are really nice and add allot to the kit. The PE less so. I really like that they went away from PE placards in the cockpit back to decals. Look much better IMO.
Yea, kinda leaning that way. Just canβt get past the purplish cast of the PE version. That and the surface texture.

Comparison of the Eduard P-40E panel. Left is decals and right is PE. The camera is no friend to either as they both look much better with the human eye. I like the color of the left. But the detail of the right.
Big take away, you donβt need the Profi-pack for this kit.
Confirmation bias at work? Our best selling kits are spitfires ==> make more spitfires. Also, I suspect that at this point the upfront investment for another spitfire is far less than a newer subject. Capitalism has its rules.π€·ββοΈ
P-40E Warhawk in American parlance. Not sure how that translates to the British names.

My contribution to the local club meeting tonight. Building pace has slowed quite a bit but the quality is getting a bit higher.
This took allot longer than I thought it would. As someone said, itβs a complex build. A rewarding build though. A beautiful kit if you put the effort in. In no hurry to start the other one in the box.

While βFlossieβ is awaiting parts delivery, thought it would be a good time to start on her nemesis.
#HistScaleModels
Well, Flossie is almost done. I realized that the kit, good as it is, does not include the correct cold weather exhaustπ€¦ββοΈ. Another opportunity to support my favorite model company, Eduardπ

Thanks!
Was pretty stressed out about the major markings on this scheme. Pleased so far. Still have stenciling to go.

Never been a big fan of USAAF schemes that were all over OD. Stole a technique from another modeler on YouTube to spice it up a bit. The varnish makes it look more dramatic than it actually is. I kinda like it!
#HistScaleModels
OD modulation check, wing root chipping and scuffing, check. All go for decals. Soon, this will look like a real warbirdπ€

#HistScaleModels #HeaviesGB Would like to participate. The stash is light on heavies π€. Going to have to take a look around to see if I can find anything interesting. Would love to do the Airfix B-24D but itβs not available yet.
Itβs taken a long time to get to this point. The kit is awesome, I have just become a slow easily distracted builder.

His JFF approach really helped me get back into modeling. Thanks for the update.
Strong A here. Model building for me is about the joy of completion. I occasionally have multiple projects at the same time but it makes me unhappy.
Was lucky to have visited that Tamiya store back in April. Made me feel like I had completed a life long pilgrimage. The shopping experience was amazing.
Couldnβt agree more. They just keep getting better and better. The zero series is amazing. The P-51 and especially the Bβs are as well. This looks to be completely next level.
Thatβs brilliant looking. Not an armor guy at all but, I have been tempted by that kit more than once.
Iβm going inβ¦ wish me luck!

Stepped away from the bench back in March. Sat down earlier this week to wrap up a couple projects. The first was this little 109. A bit heavy handed with the weathering but I still like it.

Ah. The Vallejo color looks correct-ish to every Pzkw I Iβve ever seen. Not sure I have seen a true flat brown used on an early war tank, they always appear some shade of grey.
Love the exhaust heat coloring.
Did a Quick Look and it appears that Vallejo 71.248 Brown Grey is the cross ref for RAL 7017 Dunkelbraun.
How many of the drill bits died in the processπ I break those darn things regularly.
Herons are incredible birds. I have a white one that regularly hunts lizards in the yard. Iβm glad for the help as the lizards are a nuisance.
