orgs have shown time and time again that they are more concerned with losing GP to suspension than they are to injury. until the league office decides to take their responsibility to lead this league seriously, none of the things that need to change will. and thats just bad business if nothing else.
we've known for a very long time now that the driving force behind DOPS being feckless and inconsistent isnt the person in charge. its because the GMs dont want to have to suffer the consequences of their players missing games when they do something wrong.
whoever the next commissioner of the nhl is needs to make overhauling DOPS one of their main priorities. and i think they should seriously consider instituting a policy that sees organizations punished once a certain number of hearings is reached in a given time span
