" Iβm just a civilian. Iβm not with any of them."
"Maybe."
Her gaze drifted to the gun at his side before returning to his eyes.
"You planning to use that, or are you just trying to look intimidating?"
Caelina pulled back just enough to look at her, a thin line of red at the corner of her mouth as she lazily licked it away.
"Mm, that's enough."
Suddenly her hand lifted, fingers slipping behind Silviaβs neck and pulling her down before she could react. Caelinaβs lips crashed against hers, teeth catching Silviaβs lower lip in a quick, sharp bite.
The metallic taste of blood followed almost instantly.
+
"I should apologize again. I was a bit distractedβ¦"
She reached out, took the knife back, and stabbed it into the nearby table.
"Anyway, Iβve never seen you around here before."
"Thanks for worrying about me, darling. But Iβm not afraid of that at all."
She stared at him with a crooked smile as she stepped closer.
"Can I have my knife back?"
"You donβt actually think Iβm the one doing it, do you?" She raises a brow.
"If it were me, theyβd disappear completely."
"Not even bones would be left."
"Ohβ¦ looks like youβre getting serious now."
Her emerald eyes flick briefly to the gun in his hand before returning to his face again, as if it doesnβt bother her in the slightest.
"Murders, huh? Iβve been hearing about that too lately. Itβsβ¦ brutal. Such a mess."
+
Caelina let out a quiet huff of laughter though it sounded weak from the lingering pain. she seemed to relax into it, eyes half-lidded as fingers moved through her hair.
"You worry too much, darling."
The corner of her lips still twitched with a faint, tired smile. She didnβt pull away from Silviaβs hand, letting the blood touch her lips as she took a slow breath.
"It's not the same⦠I like the thrill." she murmured hoarsely.
She tilted her head up a little, instinctively licking the blood as it dripped down. The pale look on her face began to fade, a bit of life returning to her features.
Her eyes slowly opened and she noticed Silviaβs hand hovering above her lips, warm drops of blood falling lightly onto her mouth.
Her hand lifted, loosely catching Silviaβs wrist but she didnβt push it away.
+
Caelina let out a soft chuckle, clearly amused by his suggestions.
"Oh? Those are your options?"
"But I think youβd probably prefer the first one more." she added.
Caelinaβs body remained still, unmoving. It was impossible to tell how long she had been unconscious, but her body and her face looked extremely pale
pale enough to be worrying.
"As for the knifeβ¦" she gives a light shrug. "Like I said, it slipped out of my hand. I wasnβt trying to hurt anyone with it."
"But with something else? Who knowsβ¦" she adds with a small grin. "Iβm kidding."
No, she wasnβt kidding. Not even a little.
"You sure ask a lot of questionsβ¦ but you still havenβt told me your name."
She twirls the knife in her hand casually before glancing at him again, a faint smile forming at the corner of her lips.
+
After a moment, she pulled her fangs back out. Her tongue brushed lightly over her lips to wipe away the trace of blood before she lifted her gaze to look at him.
"Your blood tastes pretty good, darling"
she said softly. This time, she looked much betterβno longer pale and drained.
A little blood lingered at the corner of her mouth, but she already looked slightly better than before.
"Relaxβ¦"she murmured softly.
Her hand lightly touched his neck.
"Just a little more. Youβre not going to die."
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
"Deal" she murmured softly.
She leaned a little closer, one hand gripping the edge of his shirt to steady herself.
"Donβt move."
Her warm breath brushed against his skin before she lowered her head and sank her fangs into his neck.
It wasnβt every day that her hunts went smoothly. Sometimes, she ended up becoming the prey herself.
Caelinaβs unconscious body was found by [Reader] near the stream, bruises marking her arms and legs β signs of a struggle. Blood stained her hands and face, though it wasnβt her own.
"Not muchβ¦"
Her gaze drifted to his neck for a brief second before meeting his eyes again.
"Just a little is enough to keep me breathing."
She let out a slow breath, then added with a faint smile.
"Donβt worry. Iβm not going to kill you or turn you into something else. Iβm not a vampire."
She blinked slowly before lifting her gaze to look at him slightly. Then a faint smirk appeared on her lips despite how miserable she looked.
"But if you really want to help⦠then let me drink your blood."
Caelina breathed heavily, her head leaning against his shoulder as she barely had the strength to support herself.
"There isβ¦ but itβs too far" she murmured, her voice hoarse with weakness.
+
"I can standβ"
The words had barely left her mouth before she nearly collapsed. Was she really this weak that she couldnβt even stand?
Caelina let out a soft laugh, even as her brows were still knit with pain.
"If I said I do⦠would you run?"
she teased hoarsely, though she actually meant it.
She shifted as he helped support her, trying to put some weight on her legs.
+
"I just got a little careless."
she said before spitting blood from her mouth. Caelina felt pain all over her body.
"Fuck⦠I really need blood right now."
Caelina slowly opened her eyes, but she looked extremely weakβfar more than usual. Her face had gone pale.
"β¦Is that you?"
She spoke in a hoarse, dry voice. having no strength left to move.
Caelina stepped closer to him, her hand reaching out to touch his chest, her fingertips tracing lightly over it.
"Then maybe I should make you believe me this time?"
