Stephen Gethins MP is right - it has been reported that the majority of the public want to rejoin the EU, and itβs time for the Government to listen. Our future lies in Europe, not just aligning with them.
Stephen Gethins MP (Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, Scottish National Party)
Nigel Farage MP (Clacton, Reform UK)
Come back at 12 midday next week to watch live.
SNP MP @stephengethins.bsky.social: "Even the embarrassingly loyal Scottish Labour Party seem to have lost confidence in the Prime Minister...please don't let that put you off coming and campaigning in Scotland..." #PMQS
The EU played a significant role in the development of the Good Friday Agreement, and the European Parliament have reported that Northern Ireland is the part of the UK most distinctly affected by Brexit, despite the majority of the public voting to remain.
πͺπΊ Stephen Gethin MP: "Ukraine, Moldova and others see their future in Europe. Why on earth doesn't the UK"
"80% of our young people, 16 to 24 year olds want to rejoin, Customs Union, they want to rejoin."
"75% of Scots want to rejoin because this has been a failure"
Stephen Gethins MP: Leaving EU βhas failed British publicβ
"It is no surprise that those who shouted the loudest about the benefits of leaving the EU a decade ago are the quietest on its effects now"

Today saw Westminster Hall full with MPs ready to debate Stephen Gethins MP's debate on the impact of the 2016 EU referendum on the UK. Thanks to the 11,000 of you who wrote to your MP to urge them to attend, the debate proved one important thing - we are winning the argument.
Not only is today the day that the debate organised by Stephen Gethins MP on the βImpact of the 2016 EU membership referendum on the UKβ will be held in Parliament, but it also marks 4 years since Russiaβs full-scale invasion on Ukraine. This reminds us how important it is to work with Europe.
Seems like a good day to debate the Brexit debacle
- 10 years on we are poorer and less secure
- No one followed the UK out and more countries now want to join
- As Ukraine marks 4 years since the full scale invasion fighting for its right for a European future

Tomorrow, 24 February 2026, from 4:30pm until 5:30pm, Parliament will be debating the Impact of the 2016 EU membership referendum on the UK organised by Stephen Gethins MP (shown). Over 11,000 of you have written to your MPs to urge them to attend - it's going to be a lively one.
Last week, we launched a Write to MP campaign, asking everyone to urge their MP to attend the Westminster Hall debate tomorrow on the 'Impact of the 2016 EU membership referendum on the UK', organised by Stephen Gethins MP. In just 4 days, over 11,000 letters have been delivered to 607 MPs.
Very good to see a UK Parliament debate on the importance of our relationship with #OurEU and the damage caused by #BrexitBreaksBritain being organised by Scottish MP Stephen Gethins, the SNP Spokesperson for International Affairs. #LeaveALightOn #RejoinEU
Thanks to @mikegalsworthy.bsky.social for his call to MPs to attend my debate on ten years since the Brexit Referendum on Tuesday next week. Have a listen π
Brexit is costing the UK Β£90 billion a year in lost tax revenues. Β£250 million a day. That is Dundee City Councilβs entire budget lost to this waste every 48 hours
Itβs really easy to write to your MP and ask them to attend:
A decade on from the referendum, on Tuesday 24th February, Stephen Gethins MP will be hosting a Parliamentary debate entitled the βImpact of the 2016 EU membership referendum on the UKβ. Itβs vital that parliamentarians from all parties come together to discuss how to move on from Brexit.
On Tuesday next week, I have a debate in Parliament to mark the 10th anniversary of the EU Referendum. No one is celebrating, Brexit made Scotland and the rest of the UK poorer and less secure.
I asked the Foreign Office when Peter Mandelson left their employment. One of the easier questions to answer you might think. Not so, the deadline to answer my question passed on Monday and still no answer. What on earth is going on?
Labour and Westminster are engulfed in yet more chaos.
The Mandelson scandal has pulled the curtain back on a broken Westminster system.
Labour have failed time and time again to deal with the obscenity that is the House of Lords.
Scotland deserves better
My duty is to protect Scotlandβs interests.
It is absolutely unacceptable if they were undermined by Peter Mandelson during the financial crisis or at any time since.
I have ordered the Scottish Government to conduct a full investigatory audit to establish the facts.
Earlier today the Prime Minister conceded that he knew about Peter Mandelsonβs relationship with Epstein when he appointed him US Ambassador - an unusual political appointment appointment. That is why this is a matter of the Prime Ministerβs judgement.
Delivered by MP Stephen Gethins, the messages from Timmergreens Primary have deeply moved Ukrainian officials and brought hope to children on the frontlines.

In a speech at Edinburgh University on 28th January, First Minster John Swinney put Scotland in the EU at the heart of the 2026 Scottish General Election campaign.

The @centreeuropeanref.bsky.social estimated that UK GDP per capita was 6-8 per cent lower, investment 12-18 per cent lower and productivity down 3-4 per cent, leaving the country poorer than it would otherwise have been.

The world has changed dramatically over the past decade. Leaving the EU never made sense, it makes even less now. Nobody even bothers defending it anymore. Time to leave yesterdayβs policy behind - www.heraldscotland.com/politics/wes...
