This was a very interesting read, thank you! I know of a United Church minister in SW Manitoba who similarly travels around to small communities.

When will the schedule be released? Thanks.
I feel like if it goes to 40 it will NEVER go to 30 later on. ๐
I feel like the fact Winnipeg has a Georgian restaurant shows it punches above its weight. But yeah, too small to have everything...Folklorama covers a few more ๐.
The new London Drugs at Polo seemed to have a LOT of German Xmas cookies, breads, etc.
Fwiw, I have seen signs on the edge of a MB farm field saying the oats were growing up to be Cheerios.
Savoury, and the one handed-down recipe I will not mess with ๐; are the ones you made sweet? Fyi, I see Virgin Radio is having a Nuts & Bolts of the Year contest ๐.
Is Crispix the only cereal you use?!๐ฎ๐ my recipe has none- Cheerios and Shreddies instead.
Right?! Orlikow's take "Theyโre very excited about it (at) McDonaldโs. It will be the third one in North America.โ why is that important? does he own their stock?? Amongst other probs, it reduces walkability for all the ppl living near that grocery store; guess he doesn't care about that.
The fact that city council is even considering this tells you all you need to know about their (abhorrent) priorities.
Central time zone ftw
These, hands down. Added to my (lengthy) Xmas baking list prob 15 years ago and have never been dropped since. Makes a lot, too. My only sub is mini choc chips instead of reg; better distribution. www.robinhood.ca/En/Recipes/M...
Also the "his bike collided with a car" is BS and infuriating. More like Driver made an inattentive and unsafe turn, ignored RoW and seriously injured a child.
Also West End
Green and red auror borealis over rooftops
In the West End around 8:15pm.
A high school BOYS' team; it shouldn't take until the 8th para to say it's a boys' team? Doing so problematically reinforces male-as-default.
They're so awful. Sitting at the Common last night was mostly pleasant, but it kept being disrupted by very loud motorbike noise from Main; they were repeatedly ripping over the bridge.
I used to cross there almost daily when I lived right next to it. That was 16+ years ago and I never stepped off until all cars were stopped (not blaming the ped you saw for not doing so). Sad to hear it's still bad. Does it have lights now?
"Why do we need door-to-door delivery?" ask the people who expect a DVD, some deodorant and toilet cleaner delivered to their house within minutes of ordering it.
"Why do we need postal workers coming to our door?" ask the people complaining about a loneliness epidemic.
C'mon, y'all.
Same when Ellice was redone years ago, and west of about Beverley St, there are rarely cars parked on it. Such a failure of vision to rebuild it the same as it was.
Even if you'll be at the Wpg event next week, you'll be too early for this related gem: myparktheatre.com/tm-event/big...
It was quite full when we were there last night. Maybe bc of the fireworks ๐คทโโ๏ธ.
Wishing you safe travels and rest once you're back here.
Good god, does Lukes hear herself?? "We need to have people [going] downtownโฆ whether thatโs just being (there)" who cares abt other neighbourhoods' businesses, or DT residents!
"The more vehicles we get off the street... itโs better for reducing congestion"
Almost like wfh is a win win! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐
It's astounding that they're not paid for those hours, and it sure seems gendered; I'm pretty sure firefighters get paid while they are at stations, not just while in a firetruck/actively at a call.
I'm Canadian and know it as Irish twins as well; it's not only a Boston thing ๐
And buses should be free at the same times that street parking is free - evenings, Sundays.
N: Westfjords, Iceland
S: El Calafate, Argentina
E: Mariehamn, รland Is., Finland
W: Bangkok, Thailand
Yeah; you can't even buy a ~750 sq ft house on a smaller West End lot for under $200k now, unless it's dilapidated and blocks east of Arlington, let alone one in OSV on a bigger lot.
