This!! "My rep is republican and won't listen to me" is a common sentiment and I get it, but remember that censorship is unpopular among people on ANY side of the aisle, and every call still counts towards their statistics! Include your tally and pile on the pressure!

XP There's sites that don't allow it which are slightly better, but people will still try to sneak it on. And as shadow-of-its-former-self dA is now, at least it still has a scraping opt out unlike insta

That's what kept me off of it tbh, I don't want an online art hangout that just feels like another job. A place that's 'PROFESSIONAL ONLY' isn't fun :\

I left when they unveiled dreamup and allowed slop on their site with no good way to filter it out, and it just flooded everything... I hated to give up my oldest account on the internet, but it became something unrecognizable to me... Has the ability to avoid the slopists improved any since then?

There's still some gallery sites now, but everyone's too glued to this format to even give them a try, so they all feel like ghost towns. DX

Tbh if I had the option to go back to how things were on old dA but I had to delete all my other accounts, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Social media does NOT work as a good functional archive, and nobody talks to each other on it! Most of my friends were people I chatted with in dA art post comments!

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
