They're both actually really bad for the environment/living things...
Taylor Heise is so damn good.
Oh shit I completely forgot he a) played there and b) did so in that jersey lol. Maybe he removed the curse!

welp
Sceptres really have a player who wears #67? In Toronto? Bold.
I've got women's hockey on my TV while I watch a video of a beautiful man teaching me how to apply eye makeup correctly for hooded lids happy IWD to me ๐
Maybe next year we can celebrate this day with a PWHL team in DC ๐
Anyway, happy International Women's Day to every woman ๐ Know that you are strong and beautiful and powerful and AMAZING.
(But also please do still buy these jerseys if you want them and/or support them in other ways ๐ this is probably just me overthinking things. Words have meaning etc. etc.)
Screenshotting because I never want to fully call out my beloved PWHL and I'm not trying to attack them. I get the 24 hours -> 23 hours thing on IWD and I get that it's fundraising and all of that. Just think the message is confusing and not really what they're trying to say.
Anyway.
Screenshot of PWHL post that reads "24 hours? Not this year. International Women's Day comes up one hour short this year. Today, PWHL players who wear 24 are wearing 23 - a reminder that when women get less, the answer is to give women's sports more." with images of jerseys that are usually #24 but are now #23.
I'll be honest, this one is a miss for me. I kind of get what they're going for (maybe) but the answer to when women get less isn't to give women's sports more, it's to give *women*...more. Which includes sports. And taking away a number from a jersey is not that? Idk. Trying to be too clever imo.
All the areas the players would use are pretty much finished, although I have a feeling they wouldn't play at Cap One - at least not exclusively. I was thinking EagleBank (formerly the Patriot Center) could be an option.
I SAID WHAT I SAID
That was a very fun rant, thank you ๐ (not being sarcastic at all, I enjoyed it very much ๐)
/checks BU hockey schedule to see when their season could end
no reason, just curious
We really are in the grossest of timelines, in real life and in sports.
"I'm Shipping Up to Boston" sucks.
I said what I said.
...well only one of those dudes won anything and we left out the Mystics rep but it'd be nice to have players to be excited about, at a minimum.
Fair. I'm certainly hoping that's the case, since they suckered me back into fandom two seasons ago and then subjected me to whatever that was last year ๐ honestly it felt cursed in the way this hockey season feels cursed for the Caps.
...lol would you believe I kind of forgot they existed? ๐ I remembered the Mystics but they haven't been good lately either.
Personally, if I were the PWHL, I'd see this as a prime opportunity to move into DC. NHL team is disappointing, NFL team will probably be the same again, MLB team is...the Nationals...and there's momentum in women's sports with the Spirit being awesome.
....well, wait, now hear me out ๐
YUP. I mean I'm all in to ban the teams that use those colors, too, but I feel like that'll be a harder sell ๐
IMO the Caps' issues with zone entries on the power play have very little to do with the speed (or lack thereof) of individual players and almost everything to do with their insistence on trying to pass the puck right at the blue line. Easy to pick off/slow down. Mind-bogglingly frustrating.
Petition to ban "mustard yellow" as an option for hockey jersey designers. Bunch of skating bottles of French's out there right now in Boston.
My dad was just telling me about finding a signed St. Louis bobblehead he has for some reason? And the head fell off. It's an epidemic ๐

this is the creepiest fucking thing I've ever seen
Yup, those are definitely qualifications for running an entire department of the federal government.
