In Claire’s place was Clr Issa Issa, who refused to listen to us representing our members in Lambeth.

Glad to join @acornlambeth.bsky.social for my first action tonight as we called upon Lambeth Council to end the use of bailiffs to collect council tax. The system is broken. It’s unfair and ineffective, with poorer homes paying disproportionately more than rich ones.

In Lambeth, 24,108 cases of council tax debt were referred to debt collectors in 2024-5. £30.8 million of debt was referred to them, with £4.7 collected.
