Today, her legacy lives on in places like the CRUK City of London Radiation Research Centre, where scientists continue to build on her work to develop cutting-edge therapies that harness the power of radiation to treat cancer more precisely and effectively. (3/4)
She coined the term "radioactivity" & discovered the elements radium and polonium. Her research revealed that radiation could destroy diseased cells more rapidly than healthy ones, which has paved the way for its use in targeted cancer treatments. (2/4)
