So true, the surveillance is so intense, the AI fake stuff has everyone questioning everything and dismissing most, and the media is suppressing info that much further.
And KPI reports are due, little league continues, etc

Idk if it's the retrograde, war, regime, prices, isolation, lack of healthcare access, or what but this year has 2020 vibes so far. Many people are in crisis. Many are overwhelmed, depressed, alone, and cutting even more out of their lives.
And then, many pretend nothing is wrong.
I hear you there! Def keep applying cuz each year is different!
We'll be tabling zines at the Tucson Zine Fest on March 28 from 10-4p at Steinfeld Warehouse! Come see us and all the neat and unique zines we'll be bringing! :)
To everyone who said requiring facemasks would hurt profit, not here!!
We are one year in our new space, where we require and distribute masks, and we've increased the number of visitors and events hosted and the number of zines distributed is up as well!! ππΌππΌ
We've had a steady orders from libraries ever since opening our online store in 2017 but there's def been an increase around 2021!
We've had a few large zine orders going to public and university libraries lately. We love curating titles and sending our zines to good homes where they can be read by many people!
Order zines through WIZD for your library! ππΌβ¨
It's grant season and I have whiplash from all the deadlines BUT I really love sharing stories of the wonderful work we do with wizd. It's a lotta fun!
I was afraid to post an update that might jinx everything BUT we're in the clear!
The tonor worked well and after I cleaned the image transfer screen, my drum rollers and ran a developer cleaner 3x, the prints are looking great!
We're back in biz, send your zine print requests!
We're so close to reaching $3k on our last day of our fundraiser!! ππΌππΌ
Can you help us cross that line?

SOMEONE EMAILED ME ASKING TO BUY BIBLES π
NGL a ton of those professors hmu for free labor around zine education and production and I get salty when they have a salary and I don't make a buck.
We get a ton of students coming inti the shop from their college zine classes. We paint the full picture for them, resetting zine culture.
Might be lame, but I miss going to clubs & dancing to a DJ.
My disability means I need to mask in public spaces & I can't stand long.
So, maybe I'll host a disability-friendly dance party with a DJ, masks required, & everyone has their own seat if they want! Wheelchairs, walkers, canes ETC welcome
Wowie!! Our fundraiser is so close to $3k and it ends tomorrow! Can you help us cross that line? For the love of zines?

Yesterday, I plugged in my original zine printer from 2015 and it fired right up, connected to the wifi, and printed perfectly. π₯²
They don't make them like the used to!
This printer is now retired from zine printing and is my at-home printer. It's one of my favorites
I went to five stores to find one single option. π€
Don't they know it's the year of the stencil?
I was buying spray paint and the checkout person asked if I was huffing it. I lied and said yes and they laughed and rang me up.
I also asked why it's so hard to find letter and number stencils in most stores and they said it was to limit graffiti...

Early Jan, I did a ton of research to find a new toner distributor & ordered it the first week of Feb. Then it was "lost in transit" and I had to argue for a replacement.
Meanwhile the print asks are piling in my inbox π«
It's supposedly going to be delivered tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed!
What zines are you reading this week?
What zines are you working on creating this week?
Yesss! ππΌππΌ
Also pls don't try to ever compete with me. I will always give you my neck to step on babe, there is no competition. Let me happily lift you up and outta my way. π©΅
Someone asked me if I had a baseline of hopeful.
I said no, that I was originally radicalized by global climate catastrophe.
And I wanted to add that I'm disabled. I don't identify as hopeful.
But if I can inspire others, fine and good!
Fascism is here and yet we insist on continuing to make things. Keep creating. It's so important. Do not let the fascists colonize your imagination or curtail your creativity.
That's so kind, thank you! Definitely not too late! We accept donations year-round and this effort will wrap up March 1 :)
Also this week, I met with a handful of public allies and we all made zines together and passed them around. Their work was so creative and we discussed the importance of sharing our personal stories through zines to combat our identities and histories being erased and silenced. π₯²
Also this week, a friend squatted in the Surprise city council hallway. DHS has bought a warehouse nearby for a processing center and we've been showing up to meetings, along with hundreds of others. My friend said "all my mentors are dead now. It's time for me to be the voice." I cried.
She will be greatly missed.
Her son is raising funds for the funeral as Laura had financial hardship toward the end of her life.

This week, I found out that one of my elders and mentors had passed away after having cancer for many years. Her name was Laura Dragon.
She made many notible art contributions to Phoenix including running 9 The Gallery. She always gave me room and encouragement for my art and spoken words.
Our fundraiser is spitting distance to $2k! Can you help us cross that line?
