Bringing Back 'Hard Work and Merit' could fix Labour's Problems In a nation of inherited wealth, stagnant wages, and a housing crisis, Labour must formulate a vision for Britain that argues we must return to a meritocracy to maintain power!

Not sure if youโ€™re interested but I think I may have solved Labourโ€™s comms overnight! Shame they wonโ€™t employ my strategy though ๐Ÿ˜‚

@lbc.co.uk Jamesโ€™ call in can be solved with one word.

Why are the papers warmongering?

Answer: Nationalism

James Oโ€™Brien tends to treat people spreading bilge fairer if they have posh accent; it sounds like heโ€™s having an intellectual joust.

If that man calling from Dubai had a regional accent he would treat them like an idiot, which that caller was.

Out of interest, what is it about Burnham you donโ€™t like?

She was embarrassing. But her knocking โ€œStarmer around the parkโ€ should be emphasised as Starmer being incredibly weak, rather than it being a result of her political merit.

If this is the standard, I worry for the UK

I've never observed a wider gap between self-confidence and lack of any actual understanding than in Badenoch. On other topics it can be comical, but when it extends to undermining gov't on matters of national security, in breach of established conventions, it is profoundly dangerous. #PMQs

The UKโ€™s right wing media are currently lambasting a UK prime minister for not waging an illegal war in the Middle Eastโ€ฆ they have learned nothing from Iraq have they? The likelihood is, one of your grandparents are digesting this bilge on their television every morning with their cup of tea

Nigel Farage's Long History of Crying โ€˜Fraudโ€™ Whenever His Party Loses Elections The Reform UK leader has a long record of blaming his own party's election defeats on "cheating" by ethnic minorities, yet no evidence of it can ever be found

Every time Nigel Farage's parties have lost an election he has blamed it on "cheating" by ethnic minorities and every time he receives huge amounts of media attention for doing so.

The only problem? No evidence of cheating is ever found

I hate people talking about โ€œregime changeโ€. People really should look up the definition of what a regime is.

All of a sudden moving to Dubai because you canโ€™t be arsed to contribute to society doesnโ€™t seem so attractive.

I wonder where the first place these โ€œexpatsโ€ will seek refuge when Dubai international airport opens again?

Great news. This must not now be about โ€œregime changeโ€ by putting the shah in place for the purpose of the Americans extracting oil for their own financial gain. A proper transition towards democracy must be put in place to give the Iranian people the right to self determination.

Being pushed to third in Gorton & Denton, one of our safest seats, is an indictment of the governmentโ€™s current approach.

Unless we get back to core Labour values, we are heading for disaster.

Starmer should have seen the train coming with mandleson, but Labour together and Blue Labour just can not help themselves.

Anyone in Labour who is of the tribune or mainstream ilk have their vision for the country that would deliver for the working classes.

They need to wrestle the Labour right

What Labour need to do is find a new position to take, a line that also offers people hope, and doesnโ€™t just scapegoat migrants like reform, because 1) itโ€™s immoral and 2) because it hasnโ€™t worked!

What really annoys me about this is that Kier Starmer is going to ignore this result and head towards May on self destruct.

What also annoys me is that up and down the country, local CLPโ€™s are going to be on radio silence.

Labour are no longer the only party to defeat the far right.

What point are you trying to make here?

Why donโ€™t you just concede that you got cultish real quick and recognise sometimes there can be 2 or more correct answers to 1 question.

Iโ€™m not insulting anyone, you havenโ€™t addressed the point about nuance and factors.

You simply had a kneejerk reaction and just said โ€œsomething something that message take a long time to writeโ€ฆ โ€œ

I never started this conversation as a Corbynista and I didnโ€™t end it as one. I like him, but his leadership wasnโ€™t the greatest and there are valid critiques of him.

I lionise no political figure; and I certainly wonโ€™t be indoctrinated into the cult of any politician

Howโ€™s that played out Lorraine? Wake up. Labour need to start delivering for the British people and tack left

Or you just canโ€™t hold 2 thoughts in your head at once and understand nuance or multifaceted issues. When do educate yourself in humanities past gcse level it means you can write essays that include something called โ€œfactorsโ€.

Yeah I agree they sabotaged him. But he also didnโ€™t help himself; the wishy washy play both sides of Brexit because he was secretly a brexiteer also damaged the result of the 2019 election. We need to remember, yes Corbyn got a large amount of the vote share, but Boris Johnson got more red wall seats
