Former journalist, current media relations person in Tacoma. I take a lot of photos and read a lot and used to care a lot more about sports than I do these days.

I live next to one of the biggest bases in the country and that used to give me vague comfort. No longer!

You know how everyone thought food prices were bad the last couple of years?

I’ve got bad news.

Just got word that the Tacoma planning commission advanced a motion to fully eliminate parking mandates citywide at their meeting tonight, by a 8-0 vote with one abstention.

If implemented, Washington's second and third largest cities would have both beat Seattle to eliminating parking mandates.

β€œTarzhay” is French for letting ICE stage in your parking lots, letting ICE brutalize your teenage employees and kidnap your customers.

Would be kinda funny if the Seahawks were the last team to ever win the Super Bowl.

I didn't end up going down, but there were 6-8 of them who spent a few hours along the waterfront today.

Apparently license plates are no longer a thing. The most shocking thing here is that dude doesn't have a blue line sticker.

I've heard of this type of thing to make scouting harder, but that is at much lower levels.

Every morning when I wake up, my dog bumrushes me hoping I'll scratch behind her ears.

Yesterday I learned that bald eagles also enjoy a good ear scratch, but personally, I don't need to be the one to do it. πŸͺΆ

I went from thinking I'd splurge on tickets for the USMNT to thinking maybe I'll just go to a random game to now planning on attending none of it. The ticket prices are absurd.

You'll be shocked to know that the thread for this type of news has not been touched since Tuesday.

Weird to call the person following an ICE agent a suspect. A suspect of what? This is good investigative work and then lousy phrasing by the writer/editor.

Epstein Files Are Missing Records About Woman Who Made Claim Against Trump

U.S. men's hockey with Curt-Schilling-in-Boston levels of good will squandering. A 25-mile lead in the good will marathon and they tripped on their dicks right at the finish line.

Add in that the Seattle Times is only $26 per month for a digital subscription plus a robust newsroom, and it is even crazier. The TNT's owners have almost successfully killed that former amazing paper.

For The New York Times to choose to publish Jesse Singal today, of all times, is a choice to attack trans people, to make them even more vulnerable while they are already under attack. It is an appalling abdication of the Times’s journalistic duties.

It's Monday, which means it is a great day to look at birds. Here is a closeup of a Cinnamon Teal duck. Cool bill, in my opinion. πŸͺΆ
