I just tried the new Apple Vision Pro. It is weirdly awesome. The elephant sanctuary video alone was worth the whole trip. Has anyone else tried it? #apple #technology #VR
So true!
Our global #food system depends on natural systems that are under pressure: from soil to freshwater to pollinators and rainfall. Extreme weather, drought and war may disrupt supply chains, #desertification, soil degradation and diseases like #avianflu could impact production in major ways.
The energy transition is happening:
In many sectors progress is now driven by market forces. Perhaps this is why politicians who previously denied climate concerns are floating alternative solutions instead - from #nuclear to #geoengineering. Whether the alternatives have merit remains to be seen.
The role of the US will change:
As an American living abroad I’ve seen the impact President Trump had on our national reputation. I don’t believe that other countries will wait four years to see what happens next. Instead we may see a more #multipolar world, with all its opportunities and risks.
Ready or not, we've reached 2025. Halfway through the #decadetodeliver.
I think this will be the year where trends that have been ‘out there’ on the horizon, ominous or promising but not yet real, become unavoidable.
Here’s a short list of ‘unavoidables’ I’ll be looking out for in 2025:
It’s always good to see what insights the World Business Council for Sustainable Development brings regarding the #energytransition. This post contains useful reflections from the recent #COP29 in Baku.

One of the interesting trends we’re seeing as cities get greener is the value of interspersed habitats, like urban tree plantings and biodiversity corridors that stretch across neighbourhoods (aka the green grid), restored urban streams and wetlands, and this beautiful example.
As always, the real story is in the data. Very interested to see how O&G markets will shift over coming years with greater EV adoption!
Here's how to make green #transit even greener. Put the tram tracks on a carpet of grass or sedum. 2 kms of track creates 1.5 football fields' worth of green space, reducing air pollution and urban heat island effect.

That’s awesome. I think that is the way of the future- certainly in universities. I’m taking postgraduate classes atm, and it’s sad to see half the students reading off screens about unrelated content during lectures. Not judging them, I would just rather interact while we are all together!
Looks like blue skies today!
