This "Please go away" sign is literally by my front door. The bird was cool, though

A surprise $6,000 teacher pay raise gained approval in the Mississippi Senate on Wednesday after the chamber amended a bill that originally dealt with the sale or lease of unused school property.

It’s okay to be straight.
It’s okay to be gay.
It’s okay to be cis.
It’s okay to be trans.
It’s okay to be white.
It’s okay to be Black.
It’s okay to be Hispanic.
It’s okay to be a Democrat.
It’s okay to be a Republican.

But it’s never okay to turn on your hazards when you’re driving in the rain.

WHO at Mississippi Blood Services thinks two-three texts per day is a good idea?

I called back the next day because I didn’t have cell service.

This suspension has created an avalanche of paperwork and other suspensions. I’m assured that there *should* be no retroactive penalties but

While I’m bitching about disability services:

October 2025, left message for service to change address.

December 2025, in the office for something unrelated, I changed the address with someone else.

Feb 2026, person from October returns my call, immediately suspends service until I call back.

Tried to get this service in the private sector when I lived in Oxford. I was very clear about what I wanted and asked if that was possible.

They took the money and did what they wanted (not what I wanted) and annoyed the shit out of me the whole time.

It’s all state services, btw. This service doesn’t exist in the private sector here. I live in the capital metro and I work in the capital. It just doesn’t exist.

Had an intake appointment for a service on December 5th. They just got his medical records last week and approved him for the service.

I could have gotten them his medical records within a week.

This is the case with everything related to services for him. Every single thing.

There are no benefits to living in Mississippi if you have a disabled child.

Even if you have a great job, great pay, great insurance. You can’t get services that don’t exist.

I love it here and I’m exhausted, man.

I wonder what would have to happen in New Orleans that would make me not want to live there.

Museum display of a brown salamander laying on some rocks. The display card reads:
“Hellbender
Cryptobranchus alleganiensis
This giant salamander, locally known as the water dog, is found at the larger streams. Totally aquatic, it feeds on crayfish, snails, and worms as it crawls along the stream bottoms.”

I don’t care about CEOs eating burgers. Let me hobble an airline CEO and watch him navigate traveling with a wheelchair.
