Reading Lisa Cron's "Story Genius" (or rather, listening), which is a really fun read that discusses what we inherently know and love about story, and how to build your manuscript with that in mind #amediting

YES! I know how hard it is to relinquish some of that beautiful prose, but if your readers get bored and bail they won’t get a chance to read on at all.

After hearing windows shatter and my walls shake from 60mph gusts all night, I woke up to this at the very tip of an evac zone in Glendale so… we left! Family is safe and ready to evacuate on the other side of the #eatonfire. Been in LA 10 years and I’ve never seen anything like this.

I did this when I was 17 (jiggled a doorhandle for 2min before I saw a blanket in the back that was NOT mine), and I still think about it well over a decade later. I STILL do this when someone else is giving me a ride, I think I'm at their car and try a B&E. I have car blindness. I am with you.

There are a bunch of great starter packs on BlueSky where you can find swaths of authors, editors, or whoever else you might want to connect with. Things get fairly niche from what I can tell, but that helped get me comfortable :)
I once went into Costco and bought only a $5 chicken and paper towels. Some say the $1.50 hot dogs still whisper my name in reverence.
I haven't seen many 'does it matter?' straightforward-type articles around this for authors, so I see this as a great addition to the conversation 📚

have you tried screaming at the machine until it begs for mercy? (or restarting the app after changing privacy settings and updating, giving the whole thing a reboot? i'm sure you have, i have a friend who had this bug and it didn't go away until she completely reinstalled)
