Greta Thunberg on the current situation in Cuba. She comments on how the United States of America, and much of the western world, continues to starve Cubans to death. Cuba will win. Working class people will win. And we, the working masses, must stand in solidarity with the people of Cuba.
The amount of good that could be done by someone organizing a trans community nature walk cannot be overstated.
Uta Frith said masking isnβt real, late diagnoses were probably wrong, and non-speaking autistic people who write may be lying. She admitted she had no proof. None of it was challenged. I wrote the response she didnβt get: www.canarysend.co.uk/canarysendbl...
I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
AI doesnβt have intelligence and isnβt sentient! Stop it!! We canβt even treat living beings (humans or animals) with empathy and respect. Maybe work on that first.
So, uh, the Bible isn't an instruction manual, a warranty deed, a chain of title, or a governing document.
Expecting other people to live by your holy book isn't religious freedom, it's proselytizing.
I revisit this inquiry every time I encounter yet another Make America [x] Again variation.
When...?
you don't have to read graphic descriptions of SA even if the rapist is running the country right now
you don't have to read or watch graphic depictions of bombing innocents even if it's happening right now
you can be angry about and take action against wrongs without exposing yourself to trauma
Sneaker-net for the win!

Tinnitus sufferers! I read that iron deficiency can cause it, and it turned out mine was super low. Iron supplements, to my entire shock, seem to be alleviating my tinnitus. It's probably like half as loud in there.
Blue watercolor background with a black and white photo of Judy Heumann β a white woman with glasses talking into a microphone, wearing a sticker that says βSign 504β β in the bottom right corner. Text at the top reads: Remembering Judy Heumann. In a blue box, white text reads: βSome people say that what I did changed the world. But really, I simply refused to accept what I was told about who I could be. And I was willing to make a fuss about it.β Text below reads: On this day in 2023, we lost Judy Heumann, a pioneering disability rights activist. Her legacy β from the 504 sit-in to her work to pass other legislation like the ADA β is one that we look to and continue to learn from.

This is also true if all of the developmental norms that pediatricians, clinicians, and schools use for what we call "criterion referenced" measurements.
It's all VERY MUCH much white-dominant and often classist as well.
And rinse....
And repeat....
So, I ended up focused on these questions quite often over recent decades....
Were you able to hold any gratitude today?

What are you doing to fight against fascism?
How much overlap of these pursuits might produce improved efficiencies and outcomes?
I've spent more time, much more often, than I'd care to tally in arriving at such a sentiment, only to be shown reason for even bigger despair....
Lasting political change for the better begins with the overturning of citizens united, period.

Please don't try extricate the U.S.'s parents and older siblings in this white supremacist, settler colonist, rape, murder, and enslavement endeavor.
A winter floodplain landscape with dried grasses, bushes, and bare cottonwood trees.
I find great benefit through sitting in places like this, at any time of year, in any weather. I build relationships with my favorite sit spots, and keep returning to watch and listen.

5 CHRONIC ILLNESS FACTS Below the title, five rounded purple text bubbles contain the following statements: Speaking about our chronic illnesses online doesn't make us attention seekers Just because weβre having a day out, it doesnβt mean we are symptom-free No one fully understands chronic illness unless they get one themselves We donβt want to be told that we can do anything if we put our minds into it, sometimes we want to know that what we are doing is enough We often feel guilty for resting @chronicverse

The most worrying thing about billionaires calling the rest of humanity βresource depletionβ so publicly and advocating robots are better than humans as far as resources go is that they are justifying their reasoning to get rid of the rest of us.
I was overjoyed when I saw remote work open up to folks like me. The recent trend of the lock out of disabled people from work (and a further attempt at public life) enrages me.
I should be able to make a living.
