I’ve just come out of my debate in Parliament where I pressed the Health Minister on the need for an A&E extension at St Helier Hospital.
She said a fund will be made available to upgrade A&Es across the country, which is encouraging for our campaign.
Nothing Rachel Reeves announced today in her Spring Statement will be felt by people in the real world. Families still feel just as squeezed this year as they did last year.

BREAKING: I've secured a debate in Parliament next week on NHS spending.

The system has changed so much from the time it was introduced, it’s about time Parliament debated it properly.
The Labour Government's freeze on student loan repayment thresholds will hit graduates hard, whilst high interest rates mean that most of their debt is growing faster than they can pay it off.
The last time council housing was built at mass scale, we didn’t rely on private developers to deliver them.
It is time to allow councils to borrow to build a new generation of social homes. They pay for themselves over the long run.

With our new hospital building delayed for years by the Government, we need action now. We’re calling for one urgent, realistic step: extend St Helier’s A&E immediately.

Residents have reported to me an environmental disaster on the Wandle today.
A major diesel spillage has left wildlife covered and caused untold damage to the waterway.
I'm in touch with the Environment Agency and will make sure those responsible are held to account.
Yesterday we learned that some government departments haven’t even started their zero-based spending reviews.
I raised with the Justice Secretary the shocking state of our prisons, where an independent report described conditions at this prison as inhumane.
