Ukraine provided the Gulf countries with expertise to counter Iranian drones. In parallel, Ukraine is holding a dialogue about future access to interceptor missiles for its own air defense.

Basically this level of trying to "face card" the "other" is a form of sinister community policing. It's designed to make you feel you have to apologize for existing and being in their spaces and that you shouldn't be there. Saxony and Brandenburg and Central Germany are like this.

I remember when I was in my undergrad taking the DTC back to the burbs to see my family and being approached by a man. He literally said "Hey, where exactly are you from? You have a foreign looking nose... You're not from here right? Like you're not American,"

I've experienced it mostly in the Brandenburg, Potsdam area and Saxony. Berlin is for the most part insulated from this but basically once you get away from the city center it starts cropping up. I've dealt with worse racism in the US but it reminds me so much of living in Denver vs. the CO burbs.

Unfortunately it's alive and well in Germany with this mindset. Especially with recent anti-immigrant rhetoric going on out East. Part of it is my German is absolute schieße so the fact that I will resort to English they assume I'm someone Slavic and the "lazy guest worker" stereotypes appear.

This is a very hard term paper to write emotionally. Doubly so with everything going on with Iran, with Ukraine, with ICE and Alex Pretti. I have to essentially take breaks with this a lot and take long walks along the lake.

It's very much the "you are never good enough because you're not 100% drop of blood of X". Fuck I have experienced this in the US to a lesser extent being Latino. In Germany I get this too because I'm face carded as someone Polish or Ukrainian or Russian.

So I have a story from my exes best friend. He's half Saudi and Half Puerto Rican and they treated him HORRIBLE for being half Puerto Rican so he moved with his family to the Emirates and EVEN THEN. This dude comes from small millionaire Saudi construction money also.
