I had the opportunity to tour Friends in the East Colfax area & see firsthand the incredible work they’re doing for our community. They serve hot meals, operate a food bank & emergency clothing closet, provide mail services, & help people navigate the resources they need to get back on their feet.
Doing nothing is not an option. Our community deserves thoughtful, proactive solutions that balance enforcement, compassion, and long-term impact.

Yesterday, I joined the ribbon cutting for Aurora’s Potomac Pavilion, a next-level mental health + recovery center. From walk-in care, 24-hr crisis services, and stabilization units, this facility is to make help more accessible + immediate for our neighbors and first responders.
Conversations along Colfax about the DDA, time with a community-focused jiu-jitsu gym, and listening to residents at the MLK Library about the Navigation Center.
Showing up and listening is how we move Aurora forward.

At our December 15 study session and council meeting, we discussed how tools like the East Colfax DDA can reinvest in safety, infrastructure, and local businesses—while keeping community priorities front and center. These choices shape how Aurora benefits from growth.
