Like I'm pretty sure I know what this person means, but when the CRM also has its own mailing service that you CAN add to Outlook via IMAP it just makes things more complicated and I wanna walk into the woods and never return

I am getting so ungodly tired of dealing with end users who know just enough technical language to gesture at what they want but fail to articulate it in a way that doesn't result in way more confusion than had they just remained a layman.
