I made my way through this feud earlier in the year. Loved it so much i went on eBay and found some jakks classic superstars figures of the briscos. Will be watching through this to catch anything I may have missed.

went to an indie in amsterdam in 2017. minutes into his match paul got run into the ring post right beside me. took this pic thinking he’d bladed but it very quickly became a pool of blood and he had to get taken out. he was the hi-light of the show for the very brief time he was there.

Here's a story I wrote about my favorite fight.
George Foreman was part of many moments like this, events that anyone who witnessed will never forget.
Grateful to have lived a life that brought some of my heroes into my personal orbit.

lol, Homicide throws Joe a fork 🤼
Incidentally, along with Matt Tremont and Minoru Suzuki, Homicide is one of only 3 wrestlers who Abdullah the Butcher officially gave his permission for them to use the fork gimmick.
I’m a big Buñuel guy - but i would definitely say the fact i was very familiar with his work going into discreet charm was a huge benefit to my enjoyment. that film feels somewhat like a culmination of his themes and style. can understand not vibing with it.
over the last 12 months or so i have in particular become an enormous fan of Ole. dude just rocks.
Some matches feel like good versus evil. Some feel like big-time prizefights. This one felt like a championship-deciding playoff game to me. 🤼♂️

The way Animal did the shoulderblock is one of the coolest looking variations of a simple move.
NJPW ran a fan appreciation event in April 88 and Inoki faced off against Masakatsu Funaki and then Keiichi Yamada (Liger). Yamada called Funaki back in to help out and got a very rare pin on Inoki. And then ran like hell as Inoki chased him.
oh yes. this will do nicely.
new here but followed willow since i can remember on twitter. her writing has always been incredible but her writing on lynch is up there with anyone who has ever written about his work. will subscribe to her patreon for this but know i’ll stay because I’ve read her work before and it’s that good.
really loved the finish of inoki vs the destroyer. re-watched this moment numerous times now so much to love.
here’s an internet gem i think we could all rewatch today. the most important artists don’t just leave their work. they leave the way other artists tell the story of the impression they left on them youtu.be/e-eqgr_gn4k
incredible shirt.

Stack of around 500 fan-shot photos from WWF shows at Madison Square Garden, spanning 1978-1983
So, here’s a stack of fan-shot photos from WWF cards at Madison Square Garden, spanning 1978-1983.
I closed out the year scanning, and in most cases digitally restoring these photos. Many untelevised shows included here.
Some photos are better than others, but they’re all a piece of history!
great timing. just started a new inoki project last night (to right a big oversight) - started with this match against dory jr and boy it’s a blast. a first time viewing and doubt it will be a last. the funks vs inoki and baba will be watched soon too and can’t wait.
Protip on 1987-early 88 NJPW Juniors matches. The ones that start with a sneak attack right at the bell are way better than the other ones. Here Hase is defending against Takada. Here's the sneak attack and then Takada's comeback which is one of the coolest things I've ever seen him do in this era.
fuck. yes.
got a binder for my wrestling cards for christmas - and have become obsessed with this njpw pack from 2000. sadly the only pack of this set i have.

Incredible list from an incredible book. Phil got torn away for other projects but for a while he did a podcast series discussing these matches with some incredible guests - Dustin Rhodes, Tony Khan, Gringo Loco, Jimmy Jacobs, Steve Keirn, Ian Douglass, me...

unbelievable. the way of the blade rules and this playlist give me a reason to revisit it and watch EVERY match this time around.
