Okay I think Iβm taking a bluesky break at least for the weekend.
Donβt forget to take care of yourselves, friends. You canβt pour from an empty cup.
Encouraging update!

Itβs so frustrating.
As someone pointed out, itβs a monetization model for YouTube which I know. But if something is that long, Iβm definitely not staying especially if itβs not interesting or informative. Itβs usually just rambling nonsense.
Hence why I avoid YouTube.
I know that but it doesnβt make it any less frustrating.
Oh and the tv video didnβt even confirm where to find it, just where it could be found.
I ended up just unplugging the damn thing and resetting it. And later found the button and its secret sequence to get it to work.
All of the countless videos my spouse has watched of reviews for guitars, guitar parts, or something similar - most are ridiculously long for no reason while barely playing the instrument they are reviewing.
This week our tv remote got out of sync. I looked up options to fix it. The on/off switch on the tv is the least obvious thing ever so had to look up where to find it.
This one guyβs video was 5 minutes and the first 3 was just explaining that he was making a video to find the on/off button.
I have never been a big fan of YouTube for this reason.
Why do you need a 15 minute build up to get to the point? Argh. 2 minutes total would have been too much.
I would rather read.
Yeah, I worked in customer support and, if it's a 'peak' of one day, they will not care. They'll wipe their hands and say "ok, volumes are back to normal, it's fixed"
If after a week they are still receiving pressure... Then they'll begin to get nervous
The end was Q&A which was filled with mostly specific questions.
I think overall this was not that informative for me, though, there were pieces that were. The places that I wanted more information, there just wasnβt. π
Sorry i will never not complain about how awful the weather prediction is in my area after having great weather prediction growing up
Them: it might rain maybe tonight possibly?
Reality: storms this morning, storms this afternoon
Lol the weather app is once again extremely wrong forcing me to delay mowing yet again.

Talking about electric device searches now by CBP
Okay there was an oral warning for people needing visa renewal
Talking about general guidelines and yes people donβt need to panic but also not speaking enough about risk and what to do to minimize it. Ugh.
EB-5 green card option- just an investment of $800k π«
The next person is informative but not explaining enough of the terminology making it not super helpful
Oh dang thereβs a new J-1 transfer option to private industry.
So far this international specific side is not new knowledge.

We are now getting into the weeds about visas and international postdocs.
The NPA has a lot of fantastic resources. Highly recommend if you are a postdoc.
