Pre-9/11 I was doing some contract work for the Smithsonian. I'd drive from Cape Cod to Providence RI first thing, grab a Southwest to Baltimore (less TSA time back then), rent a car, drive to DC, meet with my clients, grab some lunch, drive back to Baltimore, hop on a plane and be home by 8 or 9PM.
Proud to be a small part of this effort.
I’ve stayed on X solely to push back on the crazies. Not that I expect to change the lost, I want someone who’s more moderate to see that there is pushback, that someone stood up.

If you left Twitter/X it may be time to go back. We need voices of reason to push back on the crazies. You won’t change the most corrupted minds, but you can demonstrate that the sexism, racism, and cultism will not go unchallenged. You never know who may be watching from the sidelines.

P-town was my last home before moving off-continent. Nothing like it. Had some interactions with NPS staff and director - very committed public servants and environmental stewards.

I got my email news headlines from @washingtonpost.com (I cancelled my actual subscription a while ago) and not a single mention of @corybooker.com ‘s historic speech on the Senate floor. Should have at least been on par with how much it will cost to buy Greenland 🙄 or Val Kilmer’s passing.

I get the angst. I’ve been trying to balance my values of justice and kindness while still speaking out. We have a lot of work to do.
That’s really not fair. Some of my friends who are great advocates for sustainability and the environment thought they were doing a good thing by buying a Tesla. Not everyone has the where with all to dump their car at a loss because the CEO’s politics have recently come in to view.

Took a quick drive to pay respects to Madame Pele at Kilauea. The hike was worth it! Even before reaching the crater rim the clear night sky at altitude did not disappoint. Certainly the most spectacular eruption I’ve even seen there.
